This place gives you that home town feeling with a modern twist. We visit this location every time we are in Hamden visiting family. The food is always delicious. The drinks are always well mixed and tasty. The staff are always friendly and outgoing. They have a very nice outdoor patio. The area is spacious and large enough to hold several tables. The addition of two tables with a fire pits was recently added… perfect timing for the fall and winter season. The interior of this restaurant is well designed and super clean. We haven’t had a negative experience since we started visiting this restaurant Two years ago! I like their wings - Thai and regular buffalo sauce are pretty good. Nachos are a hefty portion but can get soggy in the middle. Should be served in a platter and not piled high in a plate making it easier to pull a loaded nacho every time. Small containers with sauce should NOT be placed on top of the food. The drinks are OK. I like this local chain of restaurants, they do a good job of being consistent and offering good seasonal menu items. The burgers are great, steaks are pretty good and the sea food is always tasty. I like the calamari app and the Philly egg rolls too. Pretty good spot to bring the kids, no video kiosks on the table too which is great cause all they want to do is play the games the whole time when we go to other places that have them. Ok, let's do. If you read my post, you know that I have a fetish for Calamari. My neice and I go for apps and drinks we keep it simple 2 drinks loaded nachos and Calamari. The drinks were decent. The nachos were good... The Calamari was clams. The clams were amazing. The funny thing is that the clams aren't on the menu. The Calamari sucked. I decided to order online, show up early, and check out the restaurant. It was for 7:30pm, so I arrived at 7:10pm. As I was parking I noticed a lot of parking spaces for curbside pick-up, along with it's own side entrance. Very impressive. As I walked inside of the restaurant I was greeted by a friendly hostess who already had my prepaid receipt available to sign. I was offered to sit at the bar while I wait for my order. I explained that I was doing a Google review and she was okay with my taking some photos to post. The decor is very nice, the atmosphere is calming, and the guest all seemed pleased with their meals. All great signs in a restaurant. My food reached my hands at 7:23pm. Quickness is great, unless errors are made. I ordered a bacon burger medium well and a hickory burger medium. With a few minutes drive to my destination I considered carryover cooking. To my delight the temperatures were perfect. I definitely tip my hat to the cook. I bit into the hickory burger and immediately noticed the dry taste of brioche buns. There was no bbq sauce on my sandwich. Everyone who is educated in culinary arts know a sauce makes a meal. Only took away 1 star instead of 2 because everything else was on point. I haven't decided yet if I'd return back to the restaurant. If you want to give them a try they're a minute away off Route 15 (Merritt Parkway) Exit 60 on Dixwell Ave. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

I've ordered from wood n tap multiple times from Uber eats and I've always been happy with my food. Today, went to the location I've ordered from so many times and had a great lunch. My server was nice and very attentive. The only downside to the restaurant was that the toilets need to be upgraded. The plastic on the toilet seats of the women's restroom were all disintegrated and the water flushed so much out of the toilet my pants got wet :( Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

The gentleman manager here is on point! I received a completely wrong order through Uber eats. I called, they advised I come down to the restaurant. They completely remade the order, sincerely apologized and provided me with a $25 gift card for the inconvenience. This gentleman went out his way to make sure I left happy. I understand understaffed. I have all the patience in the world for the servers who are overwhelmed. I have NO patience for the wait that I had for a meal that cost $20. The pasta dish that I ordered said "chicken and pasta" not "pasta with a hint of chicken". I don't have a problem with $20 for a meal. I do get mad when I get a bowl full of pasta with 8 tiny chunks (1/4 inch cubes) of chicken. Really? I could've gone to the grocery store next door: box of pasta .99 Tomato .99 Cream $5 1 lb chicken $1.99 And had lunch and dinner for next couple of days!
