The amount of food is large. Really large. The plate is larger than my face. squid is really good, crispy and fresh French onion soup is too salty, the bread remains hard Shrimp and grit with mushroom taste good. Mixed flavor with a hint of cheese Pasta is ok, no surprise Burger really good Service is really good. The seating area is a little small inside, but that is the only complaint. The service is excellent and the food is spectacular. I had the bacon jam burger. This is the first time I had ever tried a bacon jam anything. I asked the waitress what she thought about it. She said it was not over powering and that it was delicious. And she was correct. The sandwich was spectacular. My mom got the Deacon Club. It was so huge, and only for $15.50. She literally had 2 servings of food in one. She loved her food so much, she can't wait to go back. The waitress was amazing. We moved seats and we had a gentleman waiter at first. He was so helpful and wonderful also. The outside area is so beautiful with the outdoor fairy lights and seating. Definitely somewhere to go if you want something good to eat with excellent service. My boyfriend and I recently visited The Village Tavern within Reynolda Village. We were initially impressed by the lively atmosphere and enjoyed the selection of beers. The food itself was also quite good, and I was especially happy with the variety of vegetarian options. However, the service we received fell quite short of our expectations. While we understand the restaurant was busy since we came on a Saturday, our waitress seemed inattentive. It would have been helpful if she refilled our waters at least once and confirmed our order before placing it with the kitchen. Unfortunately, due to the lack of writing down our orders, both my food and my boyfriend's plate came out incorrectly. We opted not to send the food back, but it's worth mentioning for future improvement that this could have been avoided. Overall, The Village Tavern seems to offer tasty food and a fun ambiance. However, the service needs improvement to match the quality of the food and atmosphere. We liked the food and drinks enough to where we do plan to eventually return during a less busy time to see if the service is better. After visiting Reynolda House and gardens we stopped here to eat. We ate outside on the patio. The food was good and plentiful. The only down side was that my wife could not use the bathroom, because it was all backed up. She used the bathroom in the other restaurant in the barn. I didn’t take any stars away, because it is not really a reflection on the food or service. Which was good. Great experience. Crisp, attentive service. Excellent meals. Fresh ingredients. Skilled bartenders. We were delighted. Best crab cakes I've enjoyed in a decade. Delightful spinach salad. Fantastic salmon. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A local person suggested this place for dinner. We got there right before they closed. The service was super fast and friendly. There was a huge variety of food and the three things we tried were all good. Since I was in the south I tried the shrimp and grits and I thought they were very good. The peanut butter pie was yummy but find someone to split it with because it is huge.
