If you are anything like me you have wondered about this place for awhile. I ventured in with a couple friends for lunch last week and it was like stepping back (refreshingly) into my youth living in a teepee in the Santa Cruz Mountains and hanging out with the tribe in the alternative eateries in Felton and Boulder Creek. Very clean, very laid back, quiet with wonderful, plant-based delights. Where else but here can you get a 4 course meal for $15? Feels like a return to the light. Check it out. What a beautiful and refreshing experience we had at the Turtle Lake Refuge Cafe today! This is one spot I didn’t want to miss while visiting the area we look forward to moving to soon! Great spread today! Love all the staff and locals we spoke to today! We also got to enjoy petting the furry friends there visiting as well! Great experience! Love the mission and purpose! Many Thanks!! ~ Dr. Cija Ebeling, Ph.D. ✨🙏🏻

Local, raw, wild and the cleanest food in the four corners, if not west of the Mississippi. If you have never experienced absolute, true food then your in luck. Turtle lake is my favorite restaurant as long as I have lived so far. Everyone in their lifetime should eat here. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Fresh Greens
I did volunteer work here as this is a non profit organization, and I would like you to consider how many reviews this place has considering how long it has been here and how mainstream it is. It should have more reviews. They have been flagging negative reviews and to be blunt there is a lot of drug culture affiliated in my experience with the place. Low key don't eat the nori
AMAZING!! I would eat here everyday if I could... Raw vegan food that tastes delicious and is good for the soul is what I'm all about. The staff are friendly and you can see the sprouts and veggies that they grow... Farm to table in one place! I really hope you support them and enjoy 🌿🙏🏼♥️

My husband and I stopped by Turtle Lake Refuge for lunch today. We were driving through Durango, looking for a plant-based restaurant to eat at. Our experience couldn't have been better! We were sat at an outside table under a tree. The staff members were sweet and attentive. We were given green drinks to start, then a plate of mixed, sprouted greens with soup and vegan lasagna. Every bite was delicious! Then we were given apple vanilla ice cream on top of apple cobbler. It was so good I wanted to ask for more, but I didn't want to appear gluttonous. It turned out that it was the founder's birthday, and as we ate, she was serenaded in birthday songs, around the corner from our table. Turtle Lake Refuge was the best place we could have chosen to stop by. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10

(I'm a chef here, full disclosure) Our food is raw, vegan, and organic. It's also as local as we can possibly make it. Don't let that dissuade you. Health benefits aside, it's delicious and if you don't believe me, try me. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
