The Thompson Bar Room is located off of the hotel lobby, just inside the main entrance from the street on the ground level - not to be confused with the Rooftop Bar, which is up the elevators on the roof. The lobby Bar Room is spacious, comfortable, well-lit, and quiet. The atmosphere is akin to a French salon, encouraging interesting conversation with friends and strangers alike, led by its host, Keith. The cocktails and small bites were exceptional, especially the smoked-cherry old fashioned, the interesting take on the aviation, the tomato salad, and the shrimp cocktail. We will definitely be back, probably often.
