Came here for dinner. We arrived early so the dinner service hadn’t started yet. Had a couple of drinks in their bar area which was nice and cozy. We eventually made our way to the dining area. Sat in a booth by the fire. Service was very good, friendly. Food was filling, although I would’ve liked it to be more flavorful. Overall, a neat spot to visit, but would’ve liked more from the food.
Went to breakfast since I was in the area and the buttermilk pancakes were delicious. Surprisingly filling for only 2 pancakes. A little pricy but the classy atmosphere makes for a relaxing meal. Would come back to try their evening drinks.
The Homestead is a dining area from breakfast to evening and then turns into a quaint cocktail lounge with specialty drinks and beers. Our mixologist was skilled and created several wonderful concoctions. The evening's were lively and we met some new friends to hang out with for the evening. We will return for more!! Our two favorite breakfasts were the Avocado Toast and the Brioche French Toast. Super tasty, but they do come with the standard Chicago city price. All in all, a wonderful place to stay and spend a holiday weekend.

What a hidden gem. The food was outstanding - the flavors were well balanced, perfect portion sizes, and detail was apparent from everything from texture to plating. The ambiance is beautiful, perfect for a classy evening out. Highly recommend the Chicken Roulade - it blew me out of this world, but everything my table had: Gem Lettuce Salad, Crab Cakes, Cocktails, Mushroom Entree, Farro and Root Salad, Potato Puree, and Chocolate Berry Mousse was fantastic. I’m ecstatic Evanston finally has a wonderful restaurant - I will be returning eagerly!

Stopped in for some snacks, and drinks. My date and I were both very pleased. Drinks tasted great. Very cozy vibe inside. And the service was top notch. Megan, Faye and Amanda went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our evening. Thank you, will definitely be stopping back
While I stayed the graduate hotel for 17 days, one of the most satisfying features was the quality of breakfasts from here.
All menu was great. Especially my favorite were the Buttermilk pancakes and the Avocado toasts. I hope to visit here again.

Had a lovely cozy dinner date here on a cold Tuesday evening. The food was delicious and creative—probably the most “haute cuisine” in Evanston. The cocktails were clever and fresh and elaborately garnished. Service was attentive and friendly. But the highlight had to be the wonderful AMBIANCE of the place. My new favorite place in the area!

We did not stay at The Graduate in Evanston, but met friends there for Sunday Brunch in The Homestead Room.
In short: We are from out of town, but if we lived in Evanston or anywhere nearby, The Homestead room would be our new go-to spot for brunch, and we would be headed back tonight to try out the dinner menu.
First of all, the service was impeccable. Dion Lane, Food and Beverage Supervisor, and the young man assisting him were amazing. Attentive, courteous, and thoughtful to the point of being surprising. The food was fabulous. My wife and I shared the Creamy Heirloom Grits and the The Brunch Madame. They were perfection. Our friends shared The Homestead Chilaquiles and French Toast and said the same thing. Finally, that atmosphere was cozy, warm, and inviting.
I can't recommend The Homestead Room strongly enough.
I checked in the other day with a worked colleague and was delighted to learn that they finally fixed the elevator. Last night the elevator broke and my colleague was stuck inside for over an hour. The fire department had to break in to rescue her. A traumatic experience. During the stay the heater in the room did not work, the bathroom door did not close and when I took a shower the water would not drain. I ordered Chicago deep dish pizza and brought it back to my room. I had read that I could request a microwave for the room. They said that is not possible. Overall, not a good experience at all. The staff was not friendly.
Hidden treasure in Evanston close to the University. I had the best lamb I have ever had. For the atmosphere the prices were reasonable. Great service. Close to the University.
