For 8 or 11 euros you get a generous and very flavorful portion of food. Perfect for lunch, dinner or take out. There are some noisy machines in the background but you get used to it. I had the panaeng curry which was savory, a tiny bit sweet and had a delicious hint of peanut. Will come back often
They raised the price! A lot with the exact same food. And for fish dishes, extra 1 € than meat. I used to buy it often over half year ago. Today passed by Leiden and think maybe buy one. Regret it so much. You can easily buy much nicer and more fresher Thai food in any other places than in here, with the same price!!! Don’t come I will say. Last time for me at least.

The pandemic has changed so much for so many people, so after all these months it's comforting to know that takeaway customers can continue to rely on the staff at Tapa Thai for the usual level of mean-spirited surliness. The food is good.

Decent Thai dishes for a decent price. Unfortunately they had no Pad thai when I came here (so I ordered sth different). I spoke Thai with them but also among locals the cashier lady was rather pragmatic than service-oriented. I mean, the food is good (the food came in a plastic box, I think the people are mostly here for take away food). But the cashier lady wasn't that friendly. Even the food is alright and authentic, there's a big minus when it comes to hospitality and customer service.

food is ok but it doesn’t original taste .
So I went in here once when I saw that they had Kraphao Nuea (fried beef with Thai holy basil) on their menu. The place is what Thai people call a "Ran Khao Kaeng" (a curry and rice place where the food is ready-made instead of freshly made to order). At the counter I asked which of the dishes was the beef with basil because I didn't see it. It turned out that there was a minced beef dish but without any basil whatsoever or it must have been ghost of Thai holy basil. I ordered the red curry instead and got the usual tasteless Dutch-style with veggies that shouldn't be in it. The white rice that came with it was overcooked and of very low quality and thus tasteless and flaky. It was my first and also the last time to visit this place. Apart from the tasteless food, I really dislike the fact that everything is served in a plastic disposable container, even when you actually sit down to eat there. I forgot to mention the angry look I got when I asked in a friendly tone if they actually added the basil to the dish later.

Very very unfriendly service. I asked a few questions about what each dish was because there were no labels on anything and I got a very rude response that I needed to hurry up because there was a long line behind me (there was only 2 people) . I had only asked them to tell me what each dish was. Perhaps they’d save people from asking what something was if they put a sign in front of it. It’s not unreasonable to want to know what you’re paying for.
Best Thai food in town! Also not expensive. There are a few seats but take away is normally the way to go.
