The food looks and tastes amazing. The staff is always nice and you don't have to wait long before you get seated. The atmosphere is always very nice. The background music is not too loud and always good music. Don't think there is anything on the menu not to recommend Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person kr 300–400 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Chocolate Fondant
Had the black Angus and lava cake here yesterday. I asked if they could make me a Moscow mule even though it was not on the meny, and they said they were able to, which was appreciated. They did not have copper cups nor did they have any cups to serve it in appearantly. It was served in a tall glass which is not proper at all. The mule itself was also not well mixed and i was not at all impressed with it. The meat on the other hand was made well and the quality was quite good. Was cooked to my specifications and was cut for me by one of the staff. Tender and nice to say the least, though more fat and hard fibers on the sides than i would have liked. The whiskey sauce was really quite good. The potatoes were also of good quality. The asparagus and champignon were fine as well. The lava cake for dessert was overall good, the fondant was of quality and the ice cream fit with it well enough. The gel on the side was fairly good as well, as was the berries. The pop candy on the plate i could have done without. The pricing here is for sure at a high level. They try to match the fairly high pricing with quality, and overall i think they do so decently well. Staff were kind and generally helpful. They were lacking some things like the lobster which we were wanting to get. A overall quality place to visit in the area.
Good atmosphere and ok food. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, attentive and accomodating. We ordered four items from the streetfood section of the menu. The dishes were all beautiful presented, but lacking in flavor. Two out of three burgers were over cooked and very chewy - and the tacos unfortunately tasted mostly guacamole. Good, creamy guacamole, but still.. I was expecting more depth in flavors and better control of the grill from such a high rated _steak_ restaurant, so I left a bit disappointed. Will perhaps try again another time.

Stay clear of the regular stakes and go for the sharing plates. Regular entrecôte was chewy and overcooked. Also stay clear of lobster tail as appetizer. The size is just like a big shrimp. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person kr 900–1,000 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
With plenty of parking right outside the door, the Steak On Stone restaurant is perfectly placed a few minutes from Tønsberg centre. As the name suggests, the speciality here is raw sizzling steak served on a searing hot stone. There is a choice of chicken, lamb, beef, etc, then you decide which potatoes and finally sauces. Large indooor area is complimented by a spacious outdoor seating area. We were greeted at the entrance by a smiling waiter who took us to our table, wiping it and the chairs before we sat. All safety measures were observed including disposable menus. The idea here is that your cuts of meat are served raw & you cook them yourself on the red hot stone at the table. In this way you can get your food exactly the way you want it & that's exactly what we got. Another bonus with this concept is the fact that it was mere minutes before our order was delivered to the table. This is a relatively new restaurant in town but already most of the tables this Wednesday were reserved so if you are planning to eat here and I highly recommend that you do, it's best to book in advance. All in all a great dining experience that is refreshingly different. Service was excellent, prices were middle of the tree with two steak dinners costing around Kr.700,- (US $75).
My girlfriend and I stumbled into this one by coincidence and was blown away! I had a grass fed entrecôte, which was the best entrecôte since I went to Argentina more than ten years ago. The waiters was attentive and friendly. Also it was great to get real quality wine by the glass. Will definitely come back one day.
Superb food, great service. Highly recommended. Probably the best restaurant in Tønsberg.
Clean and friendly staff. Waiting time and messing with the bill at the end was an issue. Food was delicious. Prices was mid range. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
Great location right in the center of Tønsberg, excellent service and delicious food! As we were staying at a hotel nearby, it was very convenient to eat here. We had a burger, a salad and some side dishes, all of which were out of this world! The service was exceptional as well and even though it was quite crowded when we went there, we were served very quickly! The place is a bit pricy considering the size of the dishes, but it was worth every krone!
We came here for Steak, and we got the most excellent Steak imaginable! There are different choices of meat cuts to choose from (even Waguy!). I had the Norwegian Grass-Fed entrecote and my wife and mother had the sirloin. All grilled to perfection and served with tasty sides (puréed cauliflower, baked carrots, potatoes with herbs). The only downside with the food was that the meat was a little too salty for our tastes, it completely masked all the flavours at times, so a suggestion would be to use slightly less salt and instead put salt shakers on the table. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but unfortunately a bit slow and inattentive at times. We wanted to have dessert but nobody came to our table to offer us the menu after our dinner was finished, and I finally had to raise my hand and ask for it. We got our dessert menus, but after 25 minutes without anyone asking for our dessert order, I had to - again - raise my hand to a waiter who was clearing the plates from another table to get us the tab so we could pay and leave. But overall: excellent food, cozy atmosphere right by the water, and friendly staff. Slightly less salt on the meat and more expedient service for our dessert and it would have been a definitive 5-star rating. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner
