This is the greatest place near St. Mary's Church. Try tasty ribeye, fried fish and hamburgers. Delicious draft beer or good martinis are what can make you come back to this bar. Choose between indoor and outdoor seating. The courteous staff welcomes guests all year round. Nice service is something visitors agree upon here. Spats offers you food at affordable prices. My wife and I ate here for the 1st time in a while a month ago. Very impressed with the new owners menu. Went back with another couple on Saturday and again, it was very good over. All of us got a steak. 2 of us got the Tenderloin and 2 of us got the Hanger Steak. Great food and great service. Stacey was our bartender and Brit was our waitress. We will be back again for sure! Whelp, we had to go back to Spats to try some other items. Started out with that amazing bang bang shrimp again! Hubby had the steak Diane which was really really awesome! Those round potatoes were melt in your mouth! The steak was also very good with that very flavorful gravy. I opted for the Bacon cheeseburger with truffle fries. Food seems to be very consistent and amazing! The last time we had the mushroom Swiss burger which was also amazing. Can’t wait to go back again!

We went out for a day late Valentine's dinner on 2/15 and were excited to still be able to order from the Valentine's menu. Living in Appleton almost 20 years this was my first time here and I'm mad I didn't get there sooner! Walked into an intimate bar setting with a nice size bar and booth seating with tables in the back and a separate side room where the bathroom is located. The service was great, were seated right away and shortly after our drinks were ordered. I had a fantastic old fashioned and my wife had a cranberry spritzer both with great flavor and hand crafted. We ordered appetizers right away and had some of the best crab cakes I've eaten and the Brussels sprouts topped with nuts, cheese, bacon and balsamic. We shared everything and it was enough that we had to take a box home with our entrees- miso glaze salmon with veggies and rice and I had the hot brown with fries which were both well flavored, cooked perfectly and came out quickly. Had to get the dessert feature for Valentine's Day- a strawberry chocolate mousse. Price was less than we intended to spend, even with steak options in the $35+ price point, the quality and local ingredients make it well worth it! The server checked back regularly but not over bearing, overall a fantastic restaurant for any occasion! Looking forward to going back soon. Our server Brit is one of the best servers I've had possibly ever. The drinks were great, hand muddled old fashions. Appetizers were also were top notch. We had the Muscles and Brussel Sprouts. It's a beautiful building with a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this establishment for anything from just drinks to a date night!!! Great food & welcoming staff! The food here was very good . I had the haddock that was lightly breaded & cooked perfect…..tasty tarter sauce included. My friend absolutely loved the salmon which was served with a light lemon sauce & baby red potatoes . Generous servings . We liked the relaxing atmosphere & comfortable seating . They also have an outdoor patio (spatio) & they have their own free parking lot . Very nice spot to eat . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent meal. I had the special, large meatball w/ pasta and homemade sauce. Great flavors. Loved the sauce. My friend ha had the pan-fried walleye, which was also excellent. Stopped in for a beverage and some dinner. Nice folks with good service; chill atmosphere and a patio with a decent number of tables and music. Love that they carry local brews too. The beverages were great and fillet was delicious. Perfectly cooked asparagus. The truffle fries were excellent and the cheese curds were spot on. The scallops on the other hand, were gritty, charred, and way over salted. In addition, the spices way over shadowed any nuances that one might appreciate from the seafood. It simply wasn't very good. She got them, took two bites and said no way, passing them to me. Honestly, I tried to get through them and am pretty dedicated to finishing everything, but I couldn't do it, it simply wasn't appetizing. To close, our server was great; he was on point but not overbearing and he was very friendly. Thanks for the experience; we'll be back--we'll just skip the scallop next time. Follow up after owner response: we were enjoying the evening and didn't want to deal with the hassle of talking to a manager, etc, etc, so chose not to request a refund. Besides, we did push through quite a bit of it, as indexed by the photo. If you'd like to make it right, we'd be happy to come by for a replacement entree. Food was excellent, service superior and Nick the cook came out to our table to customize my entree for my dairy allergy. I have a severe systemic reaction to dairy and Nick prepared an excellent dairy free “crock o shrimp” . The brussel sprout appetizer was exceptional. Stacy and Bri are magnificent!! We always feel welcomed and greeted right away at this establishment. The food quality is consistently good . Potato pancakes are the best ! Salmon and Walleye are yummy but I’m a fan of the haddock. Great ownership and staff Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
