Always like to try new places and give honest opinion ...a few of my coworkers recommended me this place ..stating it's the bomb food ..that I must try out ...so I did ...very disappointed because I was looking forward a good lunch ... the rice and steak was $16 ...rice was good ., but the steak was dry ..not sure why he didn't add some juice on it ..the cupcake looks very pretty 10/10 but taste very dry and the frosting was very sweet ...too much frosting on that tiny cupcake $5.50 for 1 cupcake ...and the empanda was also dry and salty ...4.25 for 1 ..I bought 3.... The guy behind the counter didn't know any prices , so kept asking ... Overall I spent almost $35 plus $2 tip...not a good deal for lunch ...not returning back ...not because the price but because the food ...you can charge pricey as long as the food is good ... Overall 3 out of 10 ..1 🌟
Love this place, Sowy is super welcoming and nice. The food is great, sandwiches are delicious, the rellenos are always freshly cooked. If you’re looking for authentic Puerto Rican delicacy and bread this is the place.
Everything is yum-yum-yummy! The man at the cashier - Juan was nice.

Had dinner next door and went in for dessert. Amazing pastry, friendly staff. Eddie was on the counter, Juan in back. I'm told Manny owns the bakery. Got a guava scone...I think it was a scone, thin flaky layers, honey on top, reminded me of baklava. Eddie gave me a free taste test of home made passion fruit juice, wicked good. Bought two loaves of fresh bread, has a coarse grain look, I thought it would be like Russian but it's like cake. Great local business. They try hard and it shows....good prices. Awesome
The best hands down authentic Puerto Rican holy food yummmmmm

Good luck getting acknowledged by any of the workers..we left. New Owners ! Came to rancho tipico.
A bit disappointed was hoping when this place was taken over it would be better because before it was awful. granted I only tried the empanadas but they weren’t that great fried in old oil got an instant bellyache I could taste it in the empanadas they were very dry and not flavored all that much.

Sowys has been a favorite of mine since a child. They overtime have become less and less appetizing. Pork seems like it was cooked a few days prior to serving. Flan was burnt and not a good consistency at all. I hate getting served OLD food and they think people can’t taste that the food is old. Especially serving old onions and produce. Definitely was nice when the original owner was here. So sad. I came back today after a long while 7/25/23. I walked in at about 7:45. Literally was so excited for my quesitos. I also ordered a cubano. Why did I have to wait about 45 minutes just for a sandwich? Someone else walked in and grabbed their sandwich and left. Whether or not he called ahead he still waited a good ten minutes. Whoever was working the front on this day (a lady) came back out after I had been waiting a long time already to ask if I was sure I wanted what I ordered and tried to get me to order a tripleta probably bc I was already prepared and easier for them… I declined bc I was sure I wanted what I ordered. Still no food. I walked out and didn’t even get to take my Pasties home either. Tbh I’ve had too many bad experiences with the QUALITY of food that I just won’t be coming back at this point. No thanks.
Looks great, it says they are open Sunday I went around 12:30p lights were on but the door closed 😳 My friend told me that its a great. place. I'll see
