The food here is amazing. Service was top notch as well. That slappy sauce is really good. It's a must try. Food was so good I ordered a plate to go after eating the 1/2 of chicken plate 😂. If you haven't gone here yet, your missing out. Highly recommend this place. I'll be going here more often Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes 1 4 Chicken Plate

My and a coworker dined in at slappys for lunch. Retro small restaurant with great music playing. The cashier gave great customer service and we seated and brought our food promptly. The food is mediocre, a lot of it needed seasoning. I ordered the leg quarter plate with mac cheese and baked beans. Nice experience and food is decent for my taste everything needed more taste to bring out the flavor! I still recommend people to try it! Orderd the 1/4 upper dipped with beans and slaw. Beans had great flavor, slaw was great and not runny! Chicken was FANTASTIC perfectly cooked, skin was crispy even after being dipped. Sauce had the perfect amount of heat. Wonderful flavor. Go find it! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place is great! A huge piece of chicken, very tasty sauce and excellent sides. Collards and slaw were especially good. A very simple menu and friendly and efficient customer service. The staff, restaurant, service are top notch! The food was mediocre at best. Had the white meat dipped in Slappy Sauce, Mac and cheese and potato salad. Chicken had a burnt flavor about it Slappy sauce wasn’t slappin, Mac and cheese was dry with no cheese. Potato salad was good though more happy with the salad than anything else. I’m so happy Slappys reopened. The chicken is as good as ever, as well as my favorite sides ( the beans and greens). It’s a nice little facelift, but the vibe is still the same. I’ve eaten hot fried chicken everywhere and it is by far my favorite. Welcome back Skippy’s.

The chicken was not juicy. They rely on the sauce for flavor. My husband got sauce on the side. Crust was under seasoned. The sides were good but not great. Baked beans were very over cooked Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

We got take-out on the LAST Friday they were open before closing for their remodel to celebrate my hubby's birthday lunch at home. It was a horribly rainy day, but calling in to make this order, I was welcomed with the sunniest, warm service. I told him that it was my hubby's birthday and I was ordering Slappy's for him to enjoy for the very first time ever. They entertained me as I relished how I'd had their food many times and was excited to see what my hubby would think of the chicken. They thought it was adorable, but also a funny coincidence because it was the last full day they planned to be open so we got in just in time - like it was destiny. Anyways, they let me know that I could order the family meal which consisted of a whole dipped chicken, two sides, and rolls wrapped separately from everything else to avoid getting soggy, for $25. What a great value! Due to the distance from my house, they suggested I put the sauce on the side so that it didn't get soggy from the heat and time it'd have to travel for us to really enjoy it. I'm glad we did that. The chicken stayed very crispy and we just dipped every bite in the sauce they packed for us. My hubby was pleasantly surprised by the sauce's unique spice and flavor while the sides were also superb. The mac and cheese was baked nicely and the potato salad had generous sprinkles of bacon bits in it. Definitely the best helpings for comparable BBQ joints I've had elsewhere in the area. When it opens back up, my hubby's excited to try the chicken fully dipped next time!

A coworker today asked if I wanted Slappy's...I had heard of it but never tried. The wait was an hour and 15 min...but let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS! That sauce, the Mac and cheese with cheezits! Never had anything like that before and then the potato salad (which I don't even like) has converted me. Hopefully the long wait is just because they reopened after being closed for so long but who cares I would wait again! Service Take out Meal type Lunch Food: 5

My friend decided to try this place out since we’ve heard about it, and I’m so glad that we did! The food was amazing. The atmosphere was great, and the people were kind. Our food was out under five minutes. The sauce was awesome. Definitely going back. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $1–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
