The restaurant which is located at the harbour looks like a typical Norwegian wooden house. The atmosphere inside was rustic but the menu offered modern, fine dining, options. I am vegetarian, still there were a main course and some desserts to choose from.The staff was pleasant and attentive which made us feel quite comfortable. The view over the water is amazing even though we went there on a rainy day. I imagine visiting the restaurant in summer is a nice experience though. We would highly recommend that place! Fantastic meal at reasonable prices! After a morning hiking around and climbing over old defensive fortifications, we stumbled into Sjøhuset for a little rest and nourishment. The fish and chips has two size options, giving you a choice depending on your hunger level. The fish was perfect, fried to perfection with delicious thick cut chips to top it off. My wife had the wolffish, which she continues to rant and rave about now, days later. It was a perfect meal out on the patio, overlooking the harbor. Absolutely wonderful! We were a couple and Ordered a lagre fish soup with two desserts. Asked for butter to the bread, it never arrived. Minus one star for that. We waited about 30 minutes before we had to ask for the dessert and then waited another 10 minutes. Minus one star for that. Food was great and the fish soup was generous in seafood. Great seating options outside. Friendly staff that helped us get a premium table, however the general service was not top notch

One of the oldest restaurants in Kristiansand which started in about 1982. The original building still retains its old world charm and next sections have opened up on the water front in recent years. Beer is served chilled and food is ok.

This place just keeps getting better and better. And is no doubt one of the very best places to eat in Kristiansand. You also get the South of Norway Summer dining experience here. They have option to sit inside and outside. It's fine dining inside. And more casual food outside. The fine dining is an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended.

Great food and wonderful atmosphere. I would probably have given another star if I did not suspect the shrimp and the king crab were frozen. I get better shrimp from REMA 1000 (a convenience store in Norway, and im talking about the fresh shrimp). Top service, and we loved the mussels! my wife had a fish soup which is a appetizer for dinner. and I had the seafood platter. so, I had to share some. there was enough food for both of us. must mention that I reacted a bit to the price of beer compared to similar priced restaurants.

Way more chips than fish and I make better blue shells at home since they were a bit too bland, loved the mustard dip that came with the shells though. And the restaurant and view was very nice

We celebrated my partner's birthday. The food was delicious, in particular we found the seafood platter impressive. Very friendly waitress, location outstanding, right by the water.
