Really great service, I felt very welcome. Also, my sandwich came with a miniature soup! Isn't that a lovely touch :) Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Price per person €10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Friends adviced me to go here for lunch. Ordered mushroomsoup bread with kroket (typical Dutch snack) and a tomato soup. Friendly fast service and everything good tasting. My friends ordered also kroket and uitsmijter. ( baked egg with cheese on top with bread).

The food was absolutely incredible and the staff were very accommodating especially since we didn't have a reservation for the evening and don't speak Dutch! Chemaine, our waitress, couldn't have been any more helpful and welcoming. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Friendly, even without reservation they found a good spot. But I recommend to reserve in advance, as it got very crowded. The serve a local beer, and chef's dessert was amazing. Recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great find. My family and I were in the Hoorn area for the first time and were looking for a place for dinner when we happened upon De Rooie Kip. It was fantastic, really such a wonderful find. It has a nice interior and the tables are well spaced. I felt fine eating inside. The menu is not huge but has many good options. I ultimately got the grilled goat cheese dinner salad and my husband got the beef stew. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We shared the creme brûlée (amazing) and each had a “kiss of fire” coffee drink for dessert. The service was excellent too, friendly and attentive enough but not overbearing. We will definitely be back.
My friends (Carl, Michael, Stephen and Alan) and I visited Hoorn for a weekend and visited De Rooie Kip a number of times. The restaurant is lovely with superb food and drinks. The owner Juan is an exceptional and welcoming host along with Jasmin and all the other staff who are excellent and great fun. My friends and I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is simple but very good. The service is oké. When i was seated the waitress din't ask if i wanted something to drink while i waited. When i called upon the waitress there was no respons. For a while i felt ignored. Later in the evening it went better.
Excellent food. Great chef. Sublime service. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
