We were walking down the main boulevard in Noordwijk looking for somewhere nice for evening dinner. I fancied mussels and we noticed that De Botter had one spare table outside on the pavement. We asked if we could sit there and a very friendly, jovial waitress said that we could sit anywhere we wanted. She took immediately to our Hovawart dog, Bero and he was the first to get served - a bowl of fresh drinking water. She was clearly very dog friendly, talked about her own massive dog and she gave us some tips on where to walk with Bero off the lead. She spoke excellent English. All very helpful. I ordered some draft Heineken beer which went down too easily. We had some fun ordering our meal from a second young waitress - I got my mussels, my wife had battered cod with vegetables after having started with some warm bread rolls with alioli and garlic butter. All delicious, including the large bowl of chips which we later discovered, together with the vegetables, were meant for both of us. Oops... Once we had started our meal we were left completely on our own. It's a pity that nobody came out to see how we were getting on nor to ask if we wanted any drinks refills. Probably that's just as well as I'm sure that I could downed a couple of litres of beer on that balmy evening. By the time we had finished the restaurant was almost empty so, having made a quick trip to the clean restrooms we settled the bill - a cool €70 including tip. The location is perfect, with a beautiful view of the waves! There are some parking spots directly in front of the place, but I wouldn't count on parking there... they get scooped up pretty quick! The food is great... ranging from the typical Dutch snacks like 'Bitterballen' to proper fresh fish meals. They accept credit cards, and the service was very attentive.

Very fresh fish for a very good price! The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly nice. They are also very dog friendly. We 100% recommend this place. Best fish restaurant in Noordwijk!

The fish was really good and the service was also trying to do its best but it seems like there are working a lot of temps. We can recommend the restaurant but it is one of these that would not make it in reagions without that much tourisms. The interieur is pretty old and done and so the overall appearance.

Loved this place because of the friendly personel, fantastic food and location. These three components would make me visit again without hesitation. I had the default two kroketten on bread but my wife had a baguette with paling (eel) and said it was the best she had eaten in years! So our compliments go out to the chef. All in all a lovely spot on the boulevard with a sun roof to provide you shade and a view over the north sea. Definitely a place to stop and have a bit to eat or a drink.

We had a very good lunch. I had shrimp croquets as starter, my wife the smoked salmon, eel and Dutch shrimps. The cod as main course was prepared very well as was the trio of fish. The service was nice. We will come back whenever we are in Noordwijk again.

Close to the beach and nice environment with some outdoor seating (with open roof). However don't come here if it is hot (although not common in Holland). It does not turn on the air conditioner (not working or with open roof or some other reasons?). It feels like having a dinner in sauna...

I've lived in Europe for 3 years and travelled all over--this is the BEST service I have ever had in a restaurant. Everyone is friendly, on top of it completely, with fast service. The food is excellent quality as well.
