We came during lunch to get a to go order. We didn't order ahead bit our food was still ready in a flash. We got onion rings and hush puppies for our sides with Chopped BBQ sandwiches. As I am picky about slaw I elected to get mine on the side, to my surprise I liked it. The BBQ taste great without any sauce on it, very flavorful. However they do offer one signature sauce which is very thin and soaks into the sandwich instead of making a big mess like some. I would prefer to have a couple of options for BBQ sauce but theirs was still good. Our food tasted phenomenal and we recommend giving it a try. Friendly staff and dining area was clean. I had the Fri/Sat 1/2 chicken special, it was so dry I couldn't eat it. I asked for a bowl of the dip to try to make it better, but it didn't help. The reason we went was because it came up when I searched Little Richard's on Google. I did find the history and know why, but this is definitely not Little Richard's. Absolutely wonderful and helpful service, so I'm not trying to bash this place, but... Maybe this isn't Real Q's fault, maybe it's Carolina's in general, but after living in Texas for 2 yrs and trying both St. Louis and Memphis BBQ in person recently, I'm genuinely curious what people find good about this? Great local place. Food is good. Staff is nice. Booth we sat at was very worn out. Felt like I was sinking. But that’s my only complaint. Everything else is good. Best onion rings I’ve had in ages. Delicious Pork BBQ. Pork was moist, hush puppies and fried okra were perfectly crisp on the outside and warm on the inside. Sweet tea was just right with it all. This was our first time having Lexington-style BBQ - it was great. Staff were very friendly and helped suggest some good things to try. Definitely be a place to try. BBQ is great with an excellent wood-smoked flavor, red slaw is great, potato salad is good, hush puppies are some of the best I’ve ever had. The ladies working there are super nice, and my only real complaint is there’s no actual waitress service. This is by far the best BBQ in town.

I have eaten Barbeque that has been cooked with wood and served at this location since the 1970s. Although the named has changed a few times over that period of time the food has always been good every time I have dined there. I recommend the bbq whether you get it in a sandwich, a plate, a tray or in a salad. All of which you can eat in the dining area inside or at the tables outside under the porch.
