About
Enjoy Chinese cuisine at this restaurant. Many people come to taste nicely cooked fried chicken, egg foo young and fried prawns. At Mr Lu's Chinese Restaurant, you can order dishes as a takeout. The high ratings of this place would be impossible without the patient staff. Spectacular service is something visitors agree upon here. You are to be pleasantly impressed with adequate prices at this spot. As a number of reviewers notice, the atmosphere is exotic. The average score of this restaurant on Google is 4.

The best Chinese food in Winston hands down. But all of the begging and cat calling before I can get inside to pick up my food is horrible. Why is this a hang out for mentally disturbed people? Not a good atmosphere for such good food. Service Take out Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes Shrimp Fried Rice
This place has its hit-and-miss moments for me. 🤹🏽‍♀️ Although their chicken wings are delicious 🤤, I was very let down by their shrimp egg foo young. There was a distinct cigarette-soot flavor to the gravy. I would have preferred three egg patties, as mentioned in the entrée, but the combination platter only has two. 😞 The order taker/cashier at the front suggested the combination platter to me because I wanted plain lo-mein noodles 🍜 instead of the included white rice. So, I went with it 😕 without realizing that I would receive two egg patties 🥚🥚 rather than the three I initially wanted. The egg roll that came with the combo meal was also extremely soggy and greasy. 🥡 Though I was less than impressed by their shrimp egg foo young combo, I would highly suggest their chicken wings 🍗! This place has tasty food and they are quick. I typically order from here through UberEATS and the bags are always sealed and packaged well. The only downside is they use a lot of onions. The pic is from a meal I ordered yesterday. It is sitting on a full-size dinner plate. The pile on the right is what I pulled out of the takeout container and I haven't even gotten it all. It's an entire onion's worth. Honestly, a quarter of that amount would be more than enough. Service Delivery Meal type Lunch

The #1 place I get wings from. Chinese food is ok and on par, but whoever does the frying, knows exactly what they are doing. The wings, the egg rolls, anything fried is great. Wing size and price is consistent, and the pork fried rice they have is really good (pan fried but still great whoever does that one too). Dumplings always hit the spot. Price was good for today (2 full combos and drinks for like 18 bucks). Location however is an issue for many. For me, it's not something that affects me, but there is alot of homeless and crime in the area. When parking expect at least 2 or 3 homeless people to come asking. I don't mind them and they are decent and I give em a few bucks, but many would be worried to go after sundown. They even double check which location you are ordering from (which is good because the other one isn't as good and the wings aren't fried right or just kinda... meh... like a bucket of fast food chicken that sat in a window. But yea, just so you know what you're getting into. Not really a place you want to eat inside at. But take out is hands down the best, and I've actually worked as a fryer at another Chinese place in town (China wok on peacehaven) and my top choice is still this particular location for my wings and other fried Chinese items. Wings and Rice dinner was cold and hard. No evidence of freshness, which made dinner less than appetizing. This place was not my personal choice for dinner and I felt obligated to eat the food without complaining to my family member who treated me. I called in my order on 11/19/20. I got chicken and broccoli with no rice, extra broccoli, and the sauce on the side. It was ready upon pick up. Ordering on the phone was quick and easy. To me, it tasted plain, so I used some of the sauce it came with. I thought it was soy sauce, but it’s not. It’s brown sauce. Unfortunately, I’m not supposed to have brown sauce because I’m doing keto. Thankfully, I didn’t have too too much. That’s no fault at the restaurant. I should’ve asked before I ate it and no afterwards. The location could be an issue for some. I’ve been here more than once but first time in a while. There is always a seemingly homeless person right outside the entrance. Some are chill who will ask once and that’s it. Some are more persistent. I usually don’t carry cash, so I just tell them that. Overall, speaking from other visits, the food is good. They have barriers up around the register for COVID protections. This visit was a quick in and out.

The Mr. Lu Experience ( Call-in/Pick-up Edition). I wanted Chinese food on this day, and Mr. Lu was down the street. Now I usually frequent Mr. Lu on Robinhood road, but this location was near. So I called in and ordered their lunch broccoli and garlic sauce with vegetable fried rice. The individual who took my order was pleasant and gave me a ten-minute wait time. Once arriving at the restaurant, my food was ready, and I was out the door in no time. However, once prepared to eat, I noticed a piece of black hair on the side of the food container. I thought the hair was in between the lid of the food, but it was on the outside. While eating, I kept looking for hair in my broccoli or rice, but it appeared ok. The food tasted ok, and I couldn't help but think about the hair as I was eating. Would I go back to Mr. Lu? I am unsure because the area is not the safest and people loiter outside the establishment. The hair thing messed me up and had me paranoid while eating. When I want Mr. Lu, there is only one Mr. Lu I will frequent, the Robinhood location.

I got a egg roll and the cabbage or bok choy was spoiled. I never had that happen before and would still recommend this restaurant. Service Take out Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
