I've never felt pulled to leave a review for a McDonald's, other than maybe some bad locations, but this one is honestly a stand-out. My husband and I live here and occasionally go here as our cheat day. I have to say, every single time we're pleasantly surprised that this location is better than any we've ever been to. Food is always hot and fresh (I mean relatively speaking, obviously we're still talking about McDonald's) but it's just always good. Service is very friendly and I'd even say professional. There's one employee who's always a standout; for lack of a name he's a young white gentlemen in his 20s (slight country accent?) and just seems to love his job, always has a great attitude. He deserves a raise, he always adds a positive vibe. Also, Hamden is known for its homeless population and the other day we witnessed an employee offering an elderly gentlemen a cup of water on a hot day. The Play Place hasn't been open here for a while, but there's currently construction going on with it so we're hoping soon. Overall, it's just the best McDonald's we've ever been to and thought it deserves some recognition. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Went there to grab a quick bite on the way out for the kids. My wife insisted we go through the drive thru against my own views of they always screw up the order. We ordered a mcdouble and 2 fries. Paid at the first window, and an employee confirmed in the second. Of course the order only had the fries in it because God forbid getting the order correct would take a miracle. Not the fastest delivery to my car but I'm happy with SEVEN pickup spots for mobile orders. McDonald's needs more like this place.

Always clean ... someone is always out cleaning dining areas and bathrooms which to me is a huge Plus fast friendly service cool old-school feel inside

Ok service, but the restaurant needs to be cleaned. Lots of tables had trash on them, and the ladies room was disgusting with overflowing trash cans. Chicken nuggets weren’t the freshest. I really enjoyed the decor of the restaurant though, very classic old school McDonald’s.
