4.5 Wanted to try May Way Dumplings for some time and finally made my way over to try. Place is standing room only with a couple of waiting seats so it got very crowded inside during my visit. Food came out way faster than the 20 minutes quoted which I was appreciative. The deduct on the star is that the menu is not as expansive as I was hoping for as there were no soup dumplings... but, the dumplings I had were delicious and very flavorful. The steamed bun was also delicious. Outside seating available as well as across the street. Check them out. This food is amazing! The dumplings 🥟 are a must have, the Korean Fried chicken is amazing! I saw this place on a “ Winston Salem eats cameo” and it’s amazing! This is the closest you get to food channel food tours you see when they are in Korea, this food was so good! I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I was let down. Ordered a variety of items to try this highly recommended spot. Pork bun was the only thing from getting 1 star. Dumplings didn't taste that fresh, the filling was scarce, and noodles were somewhat flavorless. This place has so much potential but feel its lacking in effort. This is a order and take out kind of place. If you don't want to take it home, there are a couple tables & chairs our front of the restaurant, plus all the seating within Reynolda Gardens. Either way, it's already packed ready to go with chopsticks. Vegan friends - there are options for you! The veggie hot buns and most of the cold noodles are vegan. (I asked/confirmed) Plus the sauce in the bottom of the container that the hot buns sits in was delicious. A little spicy kick. Nice balance with the filling flavors. Omnivore humans - other Google reviewers + my partner recommend the chicken dumplings. He enjoyed the fried texture as well as the flavor of the filling. We will definitely be back. Update: still loving this place and utilize their order-online option often. We've been a big fan of picking up to-go for our gaming session with friends. I was hoping for my first time that it'll be different, but it was a bit disappointing. The food was a bit bland. I only like the dumplings but they mean well. The curry It was more broth than meat and it really really hot it almost melted the container. I couldn't really find much meat. The rice had a weird taste to it. I have never had dumplings really before… I was hesitant but I came out of my shell and I tried it and it was extremely delicious! Definitely like the fried dumplings the best… the sauce was superb! The cold noodles were very good I would prefer a hot noodle though maybe I’m just used to that but it was still very good like light & sweet gingery sauce with thinly sliced cucumbers with sesame seeds! Then I tried the peach dumpling bean dessert it was good… cuter then it tastes lol There’s only one or two tables outside so be prepared to sit at a picnic table or take home there price is excellent so inexpensive… their menu is very limited but delicious and they have a following there’s always people outside waiting to pick up their order! :) can’t wait to return…I’m definitely very full!! Stopped in for an in the moment dinner to try the food here, have heard good things. Got a variety of item between my wife, daughter and myself and some items were great and some were okay-ish (no pictures from me this time). Come for the dumplings and steamed buns and skip on the rest. The dumplings and buns were great. Had the Maya noodles and the Korea chicken rice and both of these were on the okay side. No seating inside but there are some places to sit at around in the Reynolda Village Shopping area. Definitely recommend trying it yourself, worth the visit.
