Really quality, hearty dishes! The Pescado a lo Macho was so flavorful, full, and a great seafood dish with some other seafood on top like mussels, scallops, and octopus.
Great spot for a dinner to have with friends or family.

Tacu Tacu a Lo Macho
Everything we ordered was delicious to say the least. Full of flavor- very eclectic and I cannot compare to anything else. Staff is friendly, our server Sean was very knowledgeable about the dishes and was able to describe what each plate contained. Highly recommend!

The quality of service and food at Mares was exquisite. Sean our server was attentive throughout our entire time there and incredibly amicable. The food was delicious and great portions. I definitely would recommend anyone visiting or a local who hasn't been here to give it a try. You won't regret it.

Loved my first visit to this authentic Peruvian spot in Winter Park. Our Peruvian server let me know that everyone from the owner to the kitchen staff are Peruvian. The ingredients and even the serving ware are sourced from Peru. We took all of his recs ton ordering. My favorites were the Pisco Sour cocktail and the ceviche which was perfectly spiced. Try it out!

From the beautifully decorated cafe, to the personable service, to the mouthwatering food, you can't go wrong eating here.
I had the chicharron which was deep fried fish and calamari with onion tomato salad, tartar-like sauce, and lime quarters. I know portions in the US are bigger than Canada but two of us could have shared this dish! My friend had the mixed causas, which came as 4 on one plate; she only finished 3.
The server was helpful as we had never eaten Peruvian food before. She gave great advice.

I’ve been waiting for a Peruvian spot in winter park and Mares went above my expectations!!! The ambiance is great, flavors on point and very fresh, Michelle, our server took great care of us, the owner was very nice and came to the table to explain us about their authentic Peruvian flavors. Everything was organized and clean and presentation was 5 stars 😍 you gotta order the alfajores for dessert .

Beautiful upscale peruvian restaurant in Winter Park with modern decor. It is probably the best peruvian food I have ever tried, and I went with peruvian friends! The place is nicely decorated. The drinks are great, but the appetizers are a bit expensive compared to similar places. The anticuchos are delicious, good for 1 or 2 people, and the Leche de Tigre was amazing! Then, we ordered the arroz con mariscos, (excellent flavor) and the Jalea, a huge fried fish and shellfish dish.
I really recommend this place! We will come back to taste other delicacies and dessert.

We tried Mares for lunch on January 20 2024, and we were very pleased with the quality of the food and the service was great. We shared the Lomo saltado and it was delicious! The portion size was adequate for us to share for lunch. Our server , GASTON, was very informative, timely and gracious. The owner talked to us as we sat at the bar and explained that the vast majority of the food is imported from Peru. We were pleased to hear this as it means less exposure to GMO ingredients. We really enjoyed the roasted corn that they served instead of bread. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any photos of our dish, but we will definitely be back and I’ll update this post.

GASTON was our waiter again and he let me sample a juice drink called “Chicha Morada. WOW!! It was fantastic! Non alcoholic and made with corn, pineapple juice and some other secret ingredients. I’ll be back just for this drink….delicious!
A delightful experience! We ordered octopus and the mares sampler. Fully recommended 💯 Gianna took good care of us!
