This was such a lovely experience- my partner and I celebrated with the tasting menu and wine pairing and it was possibly the best tasting experiences I’ve had. Flavors were exceptional, portions generous, and they kindly accommodated a food preference. I look forward to returning!

This was an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely delicious, presented well, with good portions. The service and atmosphere are both really great, along with good lighting for pictures. I enjoyed the wine pairing and the sommelier seemed knowledgeable and I enjoyed the presentation of the food for each course. I would definitely go here again for a fancy tasting dinner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner & our conversation with the Chef at the counter… the cocktails were instagram worthy & delicious. All the flavor components of the dishes complimented each other & beautifully plated.
Our favorite savory dishes was the slow cooked pork with pickled Japanese apples & a dollop of apple butter. The salty with the tangy was so so good.
I love that the chef offers multiple desserts. I’m a huge fan. I firmly believe no meal is complete with at least a couple of desserts. I was told sometimes they have 3 or 4.
The 2 desserts for the evening were a Merengue Baked Alaska & Upside Down Mango cake. The combination of warm toasted gooey merengue & cold tart ice cream had me thinking I should order a second.
The ambiance is casual. You leave completely full. We even had a little left over to take home. The chef’s experience is not a pre-fixed dinner where you may need to go grab a burger after. Which we have definitely done before.

Honesty one of the best “fine dining” experiences I’ve ever had. Lilia has a rotating menu as they source their ingredients locally and from nearby venues. I’m sort of kicking myself for not taking a pic but here goes off the top of my head: scallops with passion fruit, chicory Caesar salad, chinook, pork confit, and Marion berry beignet. I’m not even sure I have the vocabulary adequately describe how good this food was, but it was THAT good. Like every aspect of the fishes from the protein, vegetables, bread, sauce, etc was made with such care from the chef - you could tell from the explosion of flavor with each bite. Our fave was probably the scallops which was unexpected cause I was looking forward to the chinook and pork confit the most. But hey, pleasantly surprised in a good way right? To drink, we had the “pick me up” cocktail. Don’t recall all the ingredient but anything with vanilla extract is right down my alley. All in all, Lilia was an exquisite dining experience and lived up to its hype. It’s a “must come back” type of establishment cause the menu is always fresh.

Every dish was delicious. Our favorites were the lengua tempura and the pork collar confit (ask for extra flat bread, which is excellent). Good cocktails.

Best meal we’ve had in Portland! Did the chef’s tasting menu at the counter. Every dish we loved and thought was our favorite until the next dish arrived. Chef explain thoroughly what each dish was. Outstanding, incredible, multi layered flavours & unique combinations. My taste buds were in heaven. Oh also their cocktails were delicious!! Must visit if you’re ever in Portland. So glad we came here while we visited!!

Fantastic food, with a wonderful staff. The menu changes weekly according to what is in season, and is beautifully served. We ate outside so the atmosphere might be different inside. I wish this place would never have made it on the 50 list! Now you can't get a reservation. But honestly they deserve it.

We went here for date night. The oysters were probably the best we have ever had. The drinks were delicious. The menu was small and easy to select from. How ever the food did not match the ambiance, high class food deserves a little more romantic vibes.
Beware of the 20% added hospitality charge on top of asking for more in tip.

After a spectacular birthday dinner sampling the tasting menu at Lilia several months ago, I returned with family to try the a la carte options and had another fantastic experience. The portions here are very generous, and every dish dazzles. We particularly enjoyed the broccolini caesar and the pork collar confit, and the sauces on every dish had us ooohing and ahhhing with delight. Both of my dinners have been on the patio, which is charming, and with the sliding doors open, it feels like a natural extension of the indoor space. The service is also warm and friendly, especially on my birthday, when the entire staff went above and beyond to make it memorable. I've hesitated to write a review because I didn't know how I could possibly do justice to how amazing Lilia is (so many places in Portland are so overhyped...), but thankfully, the New York Times did it for me! I only hope I'll still be able to get an occasional table at this neighborhood gem.

We were recommended Lilia by friends who came a week ago. It did not disappoint! The person who recommended it knows that I’m a tough critic and I’ve been to nearly all the restaurants in Portland. Lilia is my number 1 this year for favorite spots and most impressive. It’s very apparent that every staff member in the kitchen cares about each dish, the presentation, flavors, and telling a story with the food. All of the ingredients were local from markets and in season. Huge shout out to the team at Lilia. I even saw the sous chef call for service “manos por favor!”, and a second time. When no one came, the head chef came by, touched the plate and said “The food is dying quickly! Manos por favor!” That is someone who CARES about every customer and every dish. It’s rare to see that anymore. Thank you. I’ll certainly be back to taste a new, seasonal menu in a couple of months.
PSA- Get the chef’s course. You get to try every dish and it’s 100% worth it.
