Exemplary service, and beautiful ambiance.
Wine selection is unique and the owner is a wine Subject Matter Expert/Sommelier.
Food is simple, delectable, and clean. How it should be and not over complicated.
Favorites are:
Asparagus and Spring Pea Soup
Normandy Chicken Salad
And so many more!

Every meal is truly scrumptious. I am addicted to the Normandy chicken salad. I think we have tried everything and have loved every single one. During the pandemic we enjoyed having it delivered for at least 3 meals per week. Soups are superb. Chicken cobbler and turkey meatloaf are also favorites. Can't rave enough! Try it, you will see.

I got a chance to visit today to help out family with meals during a surgery. They don’t have many restrictions (so I thought) - no red meat or tomatoes. I was going to get a meal for today and a meal to freeze. I looked at the salads and sandwich options and the first item I see is a quinoa salad that expired 2/23. All of salads and sandwiches but one had an expiration of 3/23. They looked alright but I was hoping for something more fresh and plentiful looking. I checked out the frozen selection hoping for anything but I didn’t see options that didn’t have tomato, red meat or freezer burn. I looked the freezers over a few times but couldn’t find anything that fit that criteria. I guess if the dates in the coolers aren’t being checked on, I shouldn’t expect staff to come over and check on me clearly rifling through every item in their freezers. I was going to ask someone for assistance but everyone looked too busy to be bothered swiftly walking around or leaving for the day, so I called it. 3 stars for looking inviting and having some sweets I would’ve added to my purchase. Thanks.

This is the best market/wine bar in Richmond and it's not even close. The prepared foods, selected local and small-batch products/dry goods, and the wine selection are superb. I can't think of many other places where you'll find a Master Sommelier pouring wine from behind the bar on a Wednesday afternoon...
And Mela, the maker of foods and chief of the operation is simply brilliant, hospitable, and kind in every way. Be a frequent customer here.

After trying different ways to have convenient yet healthy and wholesome dinners, including Home Chef and Clean Eatz, I am really impressed by Leek & Thistle's meal selections, which include meat and meatless dishes, soups, sides, and even burritos and dessert entrees. The chorizo, egg, and black bean breakfast burrito for example was absolutely delicious and filling!
All meals are frozen so I can put them in my freezer and defrost them as needed, so no more leftovers to throw away. Also, unlike the single portions of the other companies, the portions come in 16oz or 32oz containers, so I can get two to four meals from one container. That's a much better value for the money I'm spending. There is also a small refrigerated section of fresh pre-packaged sandwiches and wraps, and a large selection of wines and a bar. I highly recommend Leek & Thistle!

Butternut, sage and apple soup, Delicious! All the Burittos but particularly the Chorizo and the Veggie. Chicken Pot Oie is next level. Love this fresh, small batch from scratch healthy foods. Wonderful food. The chicken salad is the best I've ever had. Lovely proprietors too.

If not for Mela's food, I would probably not eat very much. I discovered her about 3'years ago at St Stephen's Farmer's Market. She makes food that awakens your taste buds. Her veggie dishes make me actually like vegetables!
Her seasonal Gazpacho is always fun! But her Back to Basics Chicken Pot Pie is unmatchable!

Our kitchen is being renovated, and this is so convenient being right around the corner. The food is delicious, and a much healthier option then eating out. Well done - my wife and I will be back.

Leek & Thistle is the newest gem of Shockoe Bottom! The staff is the kindest out there and continuously go above and beyond for anyone that stops by. They have a diverse selection of wine and “take and go” dinners. I’m so impressed how much they can fit into this quaint place. Make sure to try a Pecan Pie Bar while you’re there! Couldn't recommend it enough!!
