Editing this review because the owner has decided to dismiss my comments. And for the record I understand the difference between crusty and hard. This is just hard. A baguette isn't supposed to pull a tooth. I've been to France many times and never had bread that was so hard to chew. Take the criticism and do better... or don't , it's up to you. Just don't be so quick to dismiss people giving you honest feedback. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

Once you go to this place, all other bread from other bakeries taste sub standard. And you wish there are more of these french bakers in the Netherlands.
Delicious baguette and other items I got yesterday morning tell me I have to check more of the products those guys offer. Definately this place is having a fight for the 1st place with Mathis Boon in Hilversum in my head ;) hard to decide so I would really recommend trying them both!

Oh my. I have been making bread for 15 years, and i felt pure jealousy when I tried their baguette. Mine will never taste this good. It's perfection. This will rival any bread you've ever tried. Lovely people too! They were super patient with me for not speaking dutch. 🙏❤️
Unfortunately not happy with the service and "Galettes des Rois". The staff was not friendly (Hilversum location). I ordered the galettes a few days before and I mentioned the pick up date. I ordered it for my farewell at work. The product was not tasty anymore and it felt like it was not fresh baked but baked a few days before.

We are visiting this place for years. I love the La faluche, Baguette, and other treats that I can't pronounce but I always point at them and order. My own and extended family are all hooked to this bakery.
Only good bakery in Hilversum. Baguettes, pies, cakes and assorted breads are all good. Great by Dutch standards. You would have to go to Belgium or France to get similar quality.

Lovely bakery with some really nice staff. I have been told the bakery is run with actual French bakers. Unfortunately either these are the French bakers that did not make the cut in France or they have been way too influenced by poor Dutch baking. The chausson aux pommes looks, feels and tastes like Dutch appelflap, which is a completely different pastry. No cinnamon in them, the butter was so little it was missing, and it was baked to a complete crisp. Don't bother with the bread as well. It is crusty, unlike Dutch bread and tastes slightly better, but that is where it ends. It is a reasonable bread for a high price. Disgracefully enough Lidl is the best place to get decent bread...
One of the best bakeries in NL, but expect to cue up as this is not exactly a secret. We love the croissants of course, the olive bread and the brioche. The pies are French so lower in sugar than Dutch bakers typically make them.
