Breakfast was really good. The servings were generous and the coffee was top notch. I enjoyed the green sauce chilaquillas with.shredded chicken. My wife chose one of the French toast options; and that was quite fantastic as well. We sat outside and enjoyed a nice ocean view & sea breeze. We found La Patrona in 2019 and have been here five times since. It is our go to place to eat on St. Maarten. Dinner last night was wonderful. Our server Kayan, was wonderful and she served us earlier this year on our last trip. Bottom line, great food, great service, beautiful location right on Simpson Bay. We like it so much when we are on a cruise and stop here, we go have lunch at La Patrona. We highly recommend it. Came back for dessert because the main course and apps had us stuffed! Kayan was a phenomenal server for the second night in a row! We took her recommendations from each of the dessert sections and got the housemade churros, banana flambée, and Italian coffee flambée! This restaurant is so dissatisfying that i dont know where to start. Service staff is poor without any knowledge of Mexican Food and even what they have in their menu. Tacos are an insult to the Mexican Food and Mexican People !!!! Poor served, chicken tacos instead to be shredded it was chicken cubes on a grill, same for meat…..no seasoning. Then it came only with the tortilla and a splash of cubed tomatoes. I asked for white mexican fresh cheese, some cilantro and Guacamole and they said the have to charge more for it !!!! Outrageous!! We had the evening Christmas dinner buffet when staying at the resort this holiday season. There was a large selection of food and everything we tried was great. I was not sure what to expect at the buffet, but the temperature, variety and quality was terrific. Our server, Anita, was awesome too. This was an enjoyable dining experience. The food was fantastic. Our waiter, Mickiuel, was attentive, warm, and friendly and definitely deserves a special mention. Ate here for $28 Caribbean lobster special with a group of people. Three of our lobsters tails were overcooked; tough & chewy, & one was “off color” & sent back. Our server was very pleasant & accommodating. I had ordered a sangria which was mediocre & sent it back. I asked for a mojito instead & our server informed me she had to ask her manager if that was OK! Not sure if the restaurant was having an off night but we were all disappointed in the food.
