They don't have a index of where the items are up above like most stores do, but the rest rooms are clean, large and have a place to hang your coat and you don't have to climb stairs. They had individual wet wipes, and packages of Kleenex to carry in your pocket. Something the Safeway didn't. The self service wouldn't take my cash, and the checker was surly. I ask her if she was going to turn that register off, but she showed me that after scanning the first item, that that register indicated it didn't have any more money to give change. Well.....by that time it was too late, as I wasn't looking at the screen, I was putting my item in the bag that was hidden under the counter. (On the way in, I gave my bag to a guy picking up trash in the parking lot. His arms were full. )
The store was clean and all the other employees very nice and helpful. A employee picked up all the trash in the parking lot while I watched. Much better selection than Safeway down the street, but probably because that is a smaller old store.
This store has alot of cashiers and folks we have come to be acquaintances with. However the stores going down hill fast. It does not offer gluten free as much as it used to. It seems to be putting alot of those items on close out. I put In A request for raspberry jelly filled donuts twice and I Don't know what they did with the paper but never did get them. The Starbucks has asked me once if I wanted my cookie warmed.
I am not entirely sure what is going on with this store. It looks like they are doing away with gluten free items. There gluten free bakery shelf is half empty their gluten free case is gone.
Deli manager was so sweet and went above and beyond to make sure my sons birthday food was perfect. I absolutely loved her work ethic. I believe her name was Gretchen and she was a STAR!!!!
Ever since the pandemic I've avoided this store, even though it's less than 1/2 mile from my home, because of various reasons. I never feel comfortable shopping here,
never have what I need EVER, and the staff ok at best. Today, I had to grin and bear it to go there and get meds for my husband since my normal location was closed. The pharmacy keeps what I needed behind the counter, totally understandable but Grace, the awful clerk that assisted me was RUDE, gave me dirty looks as she questioned my purchase. I had my ID ready due to having to provide it before for the meds I was in need of. After using it, she threw it back at me and gave another look as if I had ulterior motives, asked for and then wrote MY phone number on the bag I was taking with me and said it was "in case I left it up front and forgot it". I have no idea what gave her any idea I would be leaving it or why the need was there to be so rude! I went because my husband needed meds that would stop his nose from running and constant sneezing. Not a clue nor did I give any reason for her grotesque attitude and nasty demeanor. Yet another reason I won't shop at my neighborhood store. Ugh, it's too bad. This used to be a GREAT store with great staff, not sure what happened but I'd rather go out of my way and head to Evergreen and shop. They still have staff help bag groceries which was an unneeded and pleasant surprise. I'm glad there are still a few nice and friendly grocery clerks out there. I'll be sure to share my experience with my neighbors and let them know where the good ones are at.
This is a review for the Bakery Department Decorator: Thank you for being so thoughful and kind withour last minute request from Jeffco Schools for our student! We looked into several King Soopers and found out that all the King Soopers decorators are off on Weds, Thurs, or both! So our request to add congratualtions to a cake that was needed by Thursday was looking grim. Fortunately the decorator at Golden who got off at 3pm and also did not work Thursdays saved the day by adding school colors and also the personlization.
Loved this store when I first moved into golden. It has tanked fast and is continuing down that road with produce and meats both out of date and moldy on the shelves, unfriendly staff, poor customer service and the old familiar faces ive seen for the last several years are gone. Will be looking for another grocery store.
Just when I thought this store couldn’t be anymore dysfunctional, no shopping carts! I would love for Publix to enter this market and destroy this pathetic excuse for a grocery chain. However, Jaimin greatly improved my experience with her lightning fast bagging skills. She really takes pride in her job! Managers take notice.
I placed an order for a cake from the Bakery a week before I needed it. I called the day before pick up to confirm the cake would be ready the next morning, they said yes. Well there was no cake and they made no effort to rectify this. We ended up using an existing cake there where they then continued to ruin the cake with sloppy stars and dents (pictures attached). We still ended up paying for this ugly cake that wasn’t even what we ordered. Do not trust this bakery with any important events.
