Went for lunch, wife like her chicken burrito, but i had fajitas steak and it just didnt taste good at all. Waitress too busy to notice us, crowd must have a friday drink special as they were yelling and laughing from accross the room. Just a bad experience or bad timing but previously its usually decent. I've visited Jose Peppers every Saturday for.. uh.. at least a year. Probably 2? Anyway, obviously I'd recommend it. I always order carnitas tacos. I hear the mini chimmies are good too. 😏 Staff has always been nice and the food is consistent. They've introduced themselves to me plenty of times - but I'm terrible with names. I'd say I've been disappointed maybe twice in all this time. And honestly, had I mentioned it to the staff I'm sure they would have immediately fixed it. It wasn't a big deal - I'm only bringing it up to highlight that fact that's less than 2% of my visits. If you're reading reviews for places you're probably pretty desperate by now so just go here. 😂 Oh one more thing, free chips and salsa. Our last visit was a bummer(due to a customer service issue with the waiter), so we decided to take a chance and come again, and I am SO glad we did! Food was great, and our waiter, Jay, was fantastic! He caught that my food was wrong before it came out, and got it fixed right away! He's super quick and very attentive and kind! (We told the manager who was working (Paul) how great Jay was, but he didn't seem to care much. He kept shifting his attention elsewhere. It's sad really, because they hear so many negative things we thought it would be nice to hear how awesome someone is.) I was really hoping this would have been a great dinner, since we’d had a good day and had just walked over from the Hampton Inn. There was a 20-30 minute wait, but it was a Saturday evening and we hoped this meant that other people enjoyed this place too. I took my wife by the bar so she could get a beer while we waited. Bartender was very nice. Dining room was a little dirty, but I kind of ignored it since they were so busy. Once we finally got a table our waitress took a bit to greet us and grab drink orders. We declined the offer of spinach dip, yet it still showed up. We returned it, though the lady who brought it said we could just have it. A second beer for my wife, first at the table, took 15 minutes to arrive. We slowly finished our complimentary chips and salsa, becoming more and more curious why our food was taking so long. I’ve been to tons of Mexican restaurants, and prep time is typically insanely fast - it’s just the nature of the menu. Waitress came by eventually, not to refill my tea, but to apologize for the long wait and offer free dessert. An hour from when we ordered our food and our two plates finally showed up. Again, lots of history with places like this I fully expected a 500° plate - and mine was super hot. My wife’s? Not. Her meal included “toppings” that needed to be presented cold (lettuce, sour cream, etc). But the hot things underneath were luke warm at best. :-( My only guess is that something happened with my order and they didn’t want to redo her entire plate. (You can’t just reheat a plate with lettuce and sour cream on top - it’ll be gross, I get it). But instead of bringing out really late food at an appropriate temperature we got room temperature. My wife tried each item that came with her combo and none were anything resembling “warm”. :( We didn’t raise a stink, but did tell our waitress when she finally showed again (still no refills). She took that meal off our bill, apologized and again offered dessert. We declined dessert again. We did see a manager walking around but he never approached our table, otherwise we probably would have shared our story then. Not to “b|tch” but to just share our concerns. Very busy restaurant. So busy, in the 1.5 hrs we were there we probably seen our server 4 times. The food did have great flavor. All people of my party did agree it tasted good. However, we were unabe to request food to be cooked a certificate way due to food allergies, and were told sorry it just comes that way.. really makes you think very different about whaylt your eating. The chips for salsa were not authentic but reheated in oil, so much that our chips were still soggy and oil dripping off of them. The salsa container, or dipping cup is very small thus we needed multiple refills of salsa for the 1 container of chips. It definitely needs to be equal parts chips to the dip quantity. Very clean restrooms. I just didn't think it was an "all that" type of experience for me and the party I had. Will give another opportunity later to see if it was just a Saturday thing.
