As an ex-pat living abroad, I have had the pleasure of visiting many fine Italian bars, particularly in Udine. All have their particular charms, but one visit to 'Il Caffè dei Libri ' and I knew that I had found something special.The ambiance changes to accommodate the time of day, but the food, the drinks, and especially the warmth generated by the staff remains consistently above average. Many return visits have done nothing to change my perception that 'Il Caffè' is a great place to chill out with a drink and a book, or pass an hour laughing with some friends. It's also quiet enough to discuss business over some fine lunch menu items. I have made ''Il Caffè dei Libri ' to be my bar of choice, for as long as I am in Udine.
I really like the cozy atmosphere in this book filled coffee shop. The staff is also soooooo kind and have always a smile on their faces (which makes this place even cozier).
It's a good place to have a coffee while studying or just have lunch with a friend. At the end of the day you may find the place full of people having a 'aperitivo'. When weather is warm you can sit outside with a book to read. You'll find people of all ages here, from students to older people just chatting and enjoying the pastries and wine...
