I attended a private party here as my first time visiting this establishment. It is right beside The Porch, which apparently is very popular.
It had a pretty big outdoor patio in addition to a smaller indoor area. The vibe is very chill, with cool lighting, decor and music. Feels a bit older than some bars. They had a good selection of drinks to choose from as well as non-alcoholic beverages. I had a mango something or another mocktail.
Cool place to hang out and unwind.
The beer is amazing, the staff was even better! Got caught in a thunderstorm in a Jeep with no doors or top on, decided that a little rain never hurt anybody! Headed to hoots anyway after visiting their satellite location several times and loving their beer. The visit was great! Very calm and lowkey atmosphere and the bartender even helped with playing bananagram table top game :). Another staff member even gave us a Hoots tshirt as well during our visit. Felt extremely welcomed and had a great time!!! Will definitely return. :)))
I spent a couple days in Winston Salem recently with my daughter and we decided to check out a few local breweries. Hoots was our favorite for both the beer and the vibe. It's a small semi-hidden gem that's quiet and relaxed. The perfect place to go with a small group of friends for conversation and beer. They had a nice representation of beer styles all very solidly crafted. My daughter favored the wheat and surprisingly the ESB and it was the Czech pilsner and cloudy IPA for me. The owner was there and explained how all the styles were created and gave us an impromptu tour while we were there. Hoots has a full liquor bar too, a rarity among st breweries and the liquor's not an afterthought either as the bar is fully stocked. There's a really good little Mexican restaurant in the same building for those extended sessions when you need some food.
It’s a little off the beaten path but it’s incredibly worth the visit! They have a great variety of beers so you can always find something you’d like, and everything is very well balanced and drinkable. If there’s a kind of beer you’re unsure about, try it from Hoots! They do a great job highlighting key components of different beers without making some of the funky flavors overwhelming. Additionally, their menu is always rotating, because once something is out something new often takes its place. Overall a great little bar and great beer, I high recommend giving it a shot!
Maddy is my favorite bartender! She has such great customer service and a great palette for coming up with delicious cocktails. I’m never dissatisfied at hoots!
We got to experience the Hoots family of Beer at the ProvideNCE Hoots Beer Dinner- We had pairings of Hoots Gashopper, Hoots Payne Road Stout, and Hoots Extra ESB and Hoots Cueberry Summer Ale with our Entrees at Tanglewood Manor house. The Chef and Brewmaster explained each Pairing- Magnificent
Dog friendly, pleasant atmosphere, good beer.
We enjoyed a couple of early evening beers at Hoots on a Monday. Nice place to kick back and relax with friends. There's nothing fancy here but it certainly has an "old warehouse" charm that comes with a really old building that's still in service. This is a quiet place where there's no big distractions (road noise, crowds, etc.). The milk stout was solid as was the IPA.
Recommended for a casual place to sit and talk with friends. The outdoor seating area is under a huge tree. The dog enjoyed it as well :-)
