Grotten på torvet in Halden means one thing in the summer months. Ice cream. They have an excellent selection of scoops, as well as very large soft ice portions with a large selection of toppings as well. And considering the size, I would argue that it is one of the best value for money places around. They also do a basic but descent selection of fast food. And though I'm not the greatest fan of meatloaf, I recognize that their kjøttpudding is among the best you can get.

The stated prices did not match. Everything was more expensive. The mashed potatoes were completely tasteless, possibly only made on water. The grilled sausage had been on the grill for a very long time. The meat pudding was not good either, sometimes very salty. Seemed like it was forgotten to stir after salt was added.
