Had the Shoarma lamb super, expected way more of this place as the reviews are so positive. The meat was dry and very badly seasoned. It tasted as if they seasoned the meat then drenched it in water, leaving a very feint hint of seasoning behind. Asked for lettuce but there was just as little of it as their seasoning. And besides that the price is quite high (9 euro). Will never eat here again.

Babylon is great, easily one of, if not the best, place to sit and share a meal with friends in Purmerend. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable but most importantly the service is brilliant. The staff here are as kind as they are generous. The menu has allergen information clearly labelled but the staff weren't entirely communicable in regards to said allergen requirements. The price is expensive imo, even for Amsterdam but this is likely because the portions are HUGE and the quality of the food is up there too. All in all, this is one of the warmest/friendliest places in Purmerend; I would definitely recommend it. Try the Kip and or Shoarma calzone and make sure you enjoy the sauces they bring to the table too, they're homemade and taste incredible!
