Had a wonderful meal here, consisting of the Reindeer. It was an amazing experience and I got to try reindeer for the first time - definitely worth it! It was very tasty and I highly recommend it. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly. The view was also incredible, a great view over Longyearbyen! I would go back!

We came here the first night when we were in Svalbard and was truly impressed by the food and options being so far north. My partner did the tasting menu and I did the king crab cooked in 4 different ways. The food was incredible and thanks to this location I found a new favorite way to have crab which is grilled with seasoning on top. The drink selection was amazing and everything was a great price. The service was great as well with the right amount of attention being paid to us.

Very fancy restaurant that was nice inside and the food was amazing. Pretty expensive for the king crab though, but it did come in a reasonable portion. The espresso martini was beyond delicious.

For those who like finer restaurants of high class with a more formal atmosphere, this is a wonderful place to eat. For there is good food, skilled staff and a fantastic view of Longyearbyen.
I'm probably of the slightly simpler type who thrives better with less formal atmosphere and that it is a little less "stiff". So it did not quite hit me but it was an experience to try it. And if I had traveled with someone and not eaten alone, the experience would surely have been even better.
Fortunately, Funken Lodge has another option for those like me. But if you like nicer restaurants, or have a boyfriend or group of friends, this is very good.
Started with a fantastic good bread which was black with butter. Then there was a smoked king crab soup which was wonderfully light. And then king crab in 4 ways (the salad that was there was amazing).
Could probably have wished for beef rather. But the pieces sold were so large that a person could not be expected to eat everything. So of the main course, the only downside is that then it was quickly only the king crab that was the choice.
But recommended for those who like this type of restaurant. One will not be disappointed.
I've been eating there for my birthday and I had a very awesome experience! The service was simply perfect! Got a very cool table with view on town and the food was very good!
I think the price for that dinner was a good price for all the things I've got! If you come in Longyearbyen you jave to eat here!

I had a King Crab alone, but two people can be fed by that amount! The waiter was very nice and helpful, the topinambur puree was amazing, as well as the smoked butter, simply incredible. I will definitely eat there again on my next Svalbard trip.
