Do yourself a favor and give this bar a try! Absolutely incredible craft cocktails. Small but mighty snack menu serving up unique hand rolls that come with a twist. We tried the Alsace, which was just beautiful. The Tuco Tuco was fruity but well balanced. And the Hemingway was a classic. We also gave scallop hand Roll a try and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic service, great speakeasy-esq vibe. Loved the ambience! Highly recommend! Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Back bars, cocktail rooms, speakeasy style cocktail places....there has been an exponential growth in the Twin Cities of places to get craft cocktails. Flora Room is one of the newest. It occupies the space that used to house Marvel Bar, one of the first of the back alley cocktail hangouts. You go down the back steps, through two doors, and you are in the Flora Room. It is part of the Daniel del Prado empire, and is underneath his newest restaurant Porzana. The ambience is definitely hip, dimly lit with a long bar and a good number of tables. We sat at the bar, which we always do if we can. However, we did not get much advice on the cocktails. That is quite surprising in an upscale cocktail bar. They have a list of riffs on classic cocktails, but the "main event" is the list of their eleven original craft cocktails. The menu is composed of drawings and a list of the ingredients. I started with the Southie, made from genever, shizo, yuzu, lemon, and saline. It has an interesting flavor profile, rather sour and salty but in a good way. My husband had the Valentina, which was a riff on a negroni, a vodka based drink, with campari, pomegranate liquor, and vermouth. It was fine but a bit on the sweet side. It had an interesting swath of a flavored powder on the side. We also tried their riff on a Sazerac, called the Old Fox. My husband loved it. It had the surprising ingredient, grappa. I highly recommend it. A number of the others were described as rather sweet by the couples next to us. They have a number of food items. We tried two of the hand rolls. Both have an interesting kick of spice. I highly recommend the tuna poke. However, they are each about 3 bites in size. At $7 to $9 each, they will not make a meal. They also have chicken sandwiches and hamburgers. The drink prices range from $16 to $20. We got there when it opened. It is 'first come, first served", and it filled up very quickly. And I do mean quickly. The cocktails on the menu are interesting, with lots of unusual ingredients. You are not going to make these at home. They clearly have been carefully designed and executed, with ingredients prebatched. One disappointment was the narrow background in cocktails by our particular bartender. It was surprising considering the kind of cocktail bar it is. So if you go, you are safest ordering off their menu. They are located at 200 North 1rst Street, down the stairs behind Porzana. Flora Room is sublime. The cocktails are interesting, food is tasty, and the menu is worth revisiting. It was pretty crowded when we went on a Friday night, but we managed to nab a spot at the corner of the bar. People are in and out, so if you find yourself waiting, it probably won’t be for too long. I hope to be back. I love the ambience, characterized by dark greens, plant life, comfortable seating, and a subtle glitzy elegance. I’m imagining getting a small group together and posting up in one of their round booths sometime. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

First time back since the new opening, similar footprint to before but much nicer, more intimate setting. Less Speakeasy more Cocktail Lounge. Service was very good, always seemed to sense and deliver at the right time. By 5:30 (30 minutes after opening) was full with steady, growing new patrons - so the word is out. Drinks were good, food was ok - burger was the best of the bunch. Upstairs was busy too - perhaps they’re still settling in. Will go back - it’s a nice place for a date drink or meeting another couple. Price per person $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I absolutely Loved the smashed double cheeseburger with fries, and a cold draft beer. The burger comes with tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and pickles on the side. The brioche buns toasted and smeared with mayo compliment everything. It's def a solid burger, one of the best I've had in the city so far. Service was slow because the place was packed (Wednesday night). Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 4
This is a great atmosphere. It’s worth going once. The drinks in general are high priced, however on top of that they throw in a strange health service tax fees. So you end up paying 3-5 dollars more with taxes and health fees. Other than the hidden fees and high drink price. It was great service and a great place. Sunday night was perfect and we got right in. Price per person $20–30 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Beautiful downstairs bar with good snack options and interesting, delicious cocktails. We had the popcorn chicken, the French fries, and the cheeseburger. All were delicious. The cheeseburger is so rich, I would highly recommend sharing it. The music was a little too loud for us to converse comfortably. The atmosphere is gorgeous, but it's too dark to see the food and beverages. (We were not the only patrons who had to use our cell phone flashlights to see the menu.} We went early to avoid the typical long lines. Valet parking is $15. I would recommend driving around to find a street meter. Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
Not a fan. They seemed overwhelmed with people and the way they let people in is disorganized. Music was ridiculously high, this spot could be good in terms of atmosphere if the vibe was more speak easy then night club. Went around 10:30 on a Thursday. Server was not only rude but inappropriate. This place has a lot of potential but the vibe inside wasn’t the move. Also the drink menu is very much so not interesting. Drinks are not versatile. Very creative but didn’t see any gin based cocktails or mezcal. Both widely used and trendy. Price per person $30–50 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

Wonderful “newer” cocktail bar in Minneapolis!! It has a speakeasy + lounge feel with a quieter section with lots of plants 🌱… we came here a couple times and even chose to spend New Year’s Eve here. The cocktails are delicious, and the service/staff are nothing short of amazing!! Thanks especially to Hailey who was extremely personable and professional! 🤩 Thanks and we’ll be back! In love with Alsace drink but had to send one drink back. I forget what it’s called but it tasted like a fish head. It was bad. Will go back for Alsace anytime. Love the vibe and plants. Miss Marvel, but Flora is a good replacement. Price per person $50–100 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
