Far East Korean & Japanese Cuisine exceeded our expectations in every way. The parking lot adjacent to the building provided ample space, making it convenient for us to access the restaurant. As soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by Cody or Ted, both of whom served as excellent hosts throughout our visit. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect for a peaceful and enjoyable dining experience. The food itself was a true highlight, with every dish prepared to perfection. We highly recommend trying the Chicken and Tenderloin Bulgogi Appetizers, Tuna Tar Tar, Grilled Salmon, Scorpion Roll, Sake (Salmon), and the delightful Ginger Sauce. It's difficult to find anything we didn't enjoy during our meal. Far East Korean & Japanese Cuisine has undoubtedly secured its place at the top of our go-to list for sushi and more! We ate here a few times with family. The yaki soba and bento boxes are very good with decent portions. Would be interested in trying their sushi in the future. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

Topline: Far East is decent restaurant with good service in a quirky setting. Not the best sushi and Korean food I’ve ever had, but it was good! Pro: Yummy tempura, friendly service, giant Japanese beers Con: sushi was a little thicc, wee bit expensive, parking was difficult Follow along as we eat our way through the Fox Valley! Trying a new restaurant randomly selected every Friday. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

First, I have lived in the area for 27 years and never stepped foot in this spot I now consider Appleton's biggest secret. I have been missing out! We walked in on a Wednesday evening and were seated right away. The gentleman working behind the bar was also our server. In fact, I never saw another staff member but we never felt we were not receiving the attention one expects in a restaurant. The dining area is small. The bar is adequate for perhaps a dozen people?? And the menu selection was good. I ordered the Chicken Bul Go-Gi Bento Box Dinner. I enjoyed everything immensely except perhaps the chicken. The flavor was fine but the chicken was too dry. I did not reduce my rating one star as I typically do if everything is not excellent because everything else WAS fantastic. I'm not sure what I will order when I go back but I will go back. Our party of four spent about $100 mostly due to the amount of sushi we ordered. Update: A return visit July 3 does not change much from above yet it confirms the service is still excellent. We ordered sushi and while I am not true connoisseur, as I have only recently started eating sushi as I am not a fan of many types of fish, the sushi seemed pretty good. The rolls did have a tendency to stick to the serving plate and made it a bit difficult to remove using chop sticks but they still tasted pretty good.
Great service and decent sushi rolls. The waiter was very prompt and knowledgeable he recommended making the big shrimp tempura roll spicy which was a great call. It ended up being one of our favorite rolls. The big philly and the rainbow roll were also very good. The spider roll was a bit dry but still good. We will be back for the service and to continue to explore their menu both sushi and otherwise.
This is a poor attempt at Korean or Japanese food. The food I order for takeout felt like it may have been scraps for an animal. I’m very disappointed in its lack of authenticity and quality. Would not recommend wasting your money here there are much better places or at the very least don’t order takeout. Also it smelled strongly of cigarettes.
I've been coming to this restaurant ever since my family moved here in 2015. It is my favorite place in the valley and I come here every year for my birthday. The food is outstanding, the servers are such hard workers, and the quaint feel of the place can be found nowhere else in Appleton. Their sushi is always fresh, and their stir fry is always cooked perfectly to the level of heat you want it at (fiery is better). We have never ever had a bad experience here. Ever! We've been going here for years and the service and food is always on point. Their menu is the perfect size offering appetizers, sushi, sashimi, bento boxes, tempura, stir fry and full bar. Some of our favorite rolls are the philly, popper roll, and volcano. Their stir fry is fully folded with veggies and cabbage as the base and packed with flavor. This is an amazing, local little restaurant, try it for your next date night! Pictured: Tenderloin stir fry served with rice on the side. Spice level is custom (1-10) Volcano roll (shrimp tempura, spicy crunch) Popper roll (fried jalapeno, cream cheese, eel sauce and sesame seeds)

The food is worth the wait if you find yourself in this cozy restaurant! The tempura, miso soup and tenderloin bulgogi was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The sauce for the tempura was very well paired and the mix drinks hit the spot. The boss/bartender/host/server/busser is amazing and I appreciated how much care he put into the experience even though it was a busy night. Best pickles ever!
