Very happy to follow this next chapter in Chef Mendez’s journey. We loved Vera. After Michael Nagrant’s review we knew we needed to get in here. Dark lighting so my photos aren’t great but we really enjoyed everything. Started with tamarindo tequila cocktails and Albariño wine. First course avocado/crab on tostones nice texture and flavor combo; bacalao potato cake not salty at all, distinct flavors. Pulpo octopus the most tender you could imagine. Main course fish escabeche was branzino (menu said mackerel) light and fluffy with some heat. Hongos (mushrooms) with squash and polenta had a nice cumin-y kick. Arroz mamposteao an intriguing dish of flavor combination. And the sancocho. The first dish I experienced in Colombia so it looms large in my culinary memory … and this was perfect. Every spoonful with flavor from the broth, zesty but not hot, well-prepared short ribs. We will be back -wanted to try much more! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
What a nice spot! Small beer selection and nice assortment of cocktails. I had their current version of a Caipirinha and it was so good. I have to assume the margaritas are good as my mother-in-law had two! We tried the halibut ceviche and the dip trio (hummus, Queso fresco and avocado & crab). All were really well made and tasty. The Arroz Con Pollo was hearty and deep with flavor, glad we shared it. Flan for dessert. We will be back soon! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
What a treat! Came down to have dinner before a show at Theo Ubique. The service couldn't have been more friendly, and the all of the food was great, but we like the sancocho and pescado escabeche the best. This is not too spicy, for people who worry about that....Dessert was so good we ate most of it before I could take picture! The rice dessert even convinced my rice hating Mom. We will absolutely come back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
New restaurant. It took a longer than I would have liked for getting drinks and the food but they just opened so I imagine they are working out the process. Staff was super friendly. Food was good. The guacamole was fresh and amazing. The Chicharrón was amazing. The short rib dish was cold when it arrived. The other dishes were piping hot. Overall, try it. You’ll like it! @food_from_the_usa Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Tostones

Welcome new addition to the neighborhood! Quite a kick to a lot of the things we tried. The steak was very tasty, and the pork shoulder was meltingly tender. I hope they can expand to some brunch service on weekends - more options! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Flan

The outing here was totally worth it. The queso frito has a very good balance for most people. When you bite it, the salsa is crisp and clean with a small spicy kick to it. It's then doused down by the good heaviness of the cheese and bread. Very good balance. The pernil entree was delicious! Very savory, which for dinner is exactly what I was looking for at the time. The meat was shredded and some crisps to it but still tender enough to enjoy. The rice was simple, a staple to this dish. And the beans were simply delicious. The plantain tostadas were great for piling all the items on it. Picture attached for this one. The flan was also very delicious. It was very soft and creamy. The caramel sauce was very flavorful. It's definitely a date night spot. The cost can add up pretty quickly (the boooooze), but for the portions and the alcohol you get, it's totally worth it. On a normal day, an entree can definitely be split. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Flan

Wonderful addition to the local food scene. Started with mofongo and ceviche, and both were excellent. The Sancocho was amazing, but it was the Caldo Santo that was a revelation. Shrimp, crab & snapper stew with coconut milk, sofrito and root vegetables, and absolutely full of flavor. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Another great find. My wife and I focus on reviewing restaurants that do a great job, and skip the ones we're not happy with. Eatestacion in Evanston, IL is a find. We were with friends, and we all agreed that every bite was a treat. We had 3 appetizers (suggested by Alba), and three main courses (suggested by Alba) and we enjoyed the dinner immensely. Congratulations to the owner and staff. They did an outstanding job. And, on top of the meal, the bar (although limited) was really tasty. We'll be back.
