Came with my husband on a Monday evening around 6:00 pm. Parking is limited and at times can be hard to find a space. The place was packed. However, we were immediately seated inside. There were several wait staff - probably only a couple tables per staff member. We wanted to sit outside on the cute patio because it was loud inside due to so many people, but it was pouring down rain. Our waiter was nice, but we didn't see him much. The place was clean and the decor was neat.
The house margaritas on the rocks with salted rims were tasty, but nothing over the top. Same with our food, it was just okay at best. My pork was really greasy and my husband's fajitas were just average for a Mexican restaurant. We were not fans of the chunky salsa and they did not serve cheese dip.
We have been to a lot of Mexican restaurants all over the US and this just wasn't it for us. We left full, but not completely loving it.

If you decide to eat at Fridaโs, better bring an appetite! Located on North Main across from the baseball field, the restaurant serves extra generous portions.
Being my first visit I decided to order a personal favorite โ tamales. Chips and salsa quickly arrived, along with a small bowl of delicious, fine-chopped coleslaw, cold & crisp. The chips were thin, dry (read not greasy) and tasty. And the salsa, delightfully savory with enough bite to make a cold Dos Equis especially welcome.
Now this is one gringo whoโs always enjoyed refried beans with rice, and they consumed half of a large square plate. Two plump tamales โone with red sauce, the other green โ covered the remaining real estate along with a tasty garnish of diced tomatoes, onions and lettuce (see photo).
A word about atmosphere: the interior is compact and inviting. Soft hispanic tunes emit a cozy, cantina vibe while the unpretentious bar with comfortable stools and big screen tv beckons the thirsty.
Iโll definitely be back!
Parking Note: Limited parking by the building. But if you drive to the back and turn right, there's an overflow lot about 200 feet down the alley.

We are used to spicy mexican food. Their salsa and coeslaw with chip are yummy. Then it went downhill from there. The sauces used were horrible!! No flavor or spice at all. I ordered a burrito.
The service was bad. We ordered a margarita, and it came after we had finished our meal.
We ordered a spicy jalapeรฑo margarita. It completely fell short on spice. Only 3 small pices of jalapeรฑo. Very small pieces, almost non noticeable. Would not go back.

My son and I came to Durango to ski. Unfortunately I was injured on the 1st day, so we ordered delivery. Door Dash completely messed up our orders...and we got someone else's. Frida's made things right with us....and it was delicious. Thank you for helping the day to end on a better note.

New tables, dishes, silverware and glasses! Food is always great (except for that one time in 21' lol). Great margaritas and food. Love the Queso, the Asada, and the Tempaquena (sp?). Chill spot for some good food. Prices have gone up a few times in the past 18 mo. hopefully no further cause dinner and drink for 2 is now over 100. Same items were 80 - 2 years ago. Still, won't find a much better taste, value and deal in Durango.

Como siempre (as always) everything was delicious. As residents of Silverton, Fridaโs is our favorite dinner spot in Durango. We love this place, the food, and the service like a second home. Raymundo has almost always been our server the last 2 1/2 years and always makes us feel so welcome. I highly recommend this place is you love authentic Mexican food, especially Mexican style seafood. We will continue to be regulars of this spot for years to come! :)

Fridas definitely has the best al pastor tacos I've had in durango, and their staff is always amazing. Very considerate, thus far I've never had any issues with any of the meals or staff. Claudia has been our server a few times, and she has been amazing!

The stuffed Pablano is absolutely amazing! I always want to try something new but end up ordering this every time. It's on the sweet side with pomegranate and walnuts and a delicious creme!!
