Small traditional Puertorican cafeteria that reminds me of having lunch at grandma's.
From the moment you enter, you hear the classic salsa music, see the old-fashioned decoration, and even the style of the building reminds me of old cafeterias when I was a child.
It was that traditional feel of the past that's nostalgic.
The food tastes great, just like a home-cooked meal. Portions are a bit smaller than other places nearby, but this is hardly an issue because the prices are cheaper.
Like I mentioned, prices are good.
Even better with takeout, cause they give you a lot more.
I would've liked, however, that the yuca was presented a bit less... sludge-like. It didn't look appetizing despite tasting great.
Overall, this is a neat little cafe that's worth eating in if you want a light lunch at a cheap price.
P.S. keep in mind that during lunchtime, it's still a bit hot despite the fans.

Decent little place. You get a full cultural experience here. Prices aren't bad either. GF and I got the scrambled eggs with ham, toast and coffees for $12 total.

The best breakfast in all of Ponce! I'm back in the island to visit family and can't wait to go back to El Glawi. If we cant catch breakfast we will grab lunch which is also superb!
Update Nov 2023- Came back to the island...had to visit again...didnt disappoint. Love El Glawi

Adorable Café a few blocks from the shore. Fantastic prices, open porch, friendly staff. Absolutely love the casual atmosphere. Hope to dine again soon!

Had the bacalao (code fish) salad with tostones and the bacalao was salty. Tostones were on point. Hubs had bistec encebollado con arroz mamposteao with tostones. The rice was old as of they had it reheated from the day before. Extremely disappointed as the 4.7 star rating didn't match the food we had that day. 😕
