Nestled downtown Durango sits a hidden gem with delicious rich home style food, marvelous service and sense of stepping back in time. This diner is a local favorite and the photos on the wall seems to show the visits of famous people through the years. The food is cooked behind the bar. The owner Greg, is also of the cooks. Thank you for the lovely food and wonderful service. I definitely recommend. Great job!! We asked locals in the area what was a good place to get breakfast. They all suggested The Durango Diner. It was the best referral took. The service was great. Our waitress was on top of drinks and checked on us. Although we hit the rush hour, we were able to get a seat. Our food came hot, fresh, and made to order. It was a cute little diner. Came in on a busy morning. Had the Huevos rancheros and they were just ok, nothing special. Servers were friendly but they were definitely super busy and stressed out. Ambience was a bit drab too but it had a good diner feel. Definitely will be back but gonna try something different time. Everyone was doing their best. We walked so far in the snow coming down to get to this diner because a review said “best breakfast ever” and it did not disappoint. The green chili on the cure was amazing and we are from green chili headquarters. Everything was so delicious and we had seconds on hot chocolate. My husband inhaled the biscuits and gravy I almost didn’t get a picture. Love the diner style and the nostalgia.

Wonderful experience! Good portions at reasonable prices. Food was excellent!! Definitely a classic "diner". Short order cooks. Don't come in a rush and enjoy the atmosphere and excellent service. What a wonderful breakfast spot! Everyone was so friendly and the food was enormous portions of delicious comfort food. I had the two eggs, ham, and toast breakfast plate. But they let me substitute a pancake instead of the toast. And let me tell you the pancake was huge and took up its own plate! We also had the breakfast burrito. All your favorites in one huge burrito. They had tables for seating but we sat at the bar on padded stools. Liked their food and casual chill atmosphere so much that we got stickers! After a 15 hour overnight drive arriving to Durango, this was the comfort food we all needed. It was busy but we got a table of 5 seated fairly fast. The ambiance is a traditional diner style where the cooks make food in front of you. It took about 30 minutes for us to get our food, and watching the cooks make orders was the hardest part! The huevos rancheros was delicious -- mostly because of their green chili! I got it on the side because I wanted to be able to choose how much I put in, and I still ate all of it! They also have some of the best hash browns I’ve ever tasted! I highly recommend this diner if you are seeking a casual yet delicious comfort food breakfast.
