Overpriced pancakes with store quality for 179 NOK. For this price it can be expected that one would get fresh strawberries and a home made strawberry sauce with the pancakes, as well as high quality strawberry ice cream. But the only thing we got was floury lukewarm heated up pancakes with a worse taste than the ones one can buy in a regular grocery store, topped with some dried out old store bought strawberry jam, old clumpy whipped cream and a scoop of store bought bad quality ice cream. In addition we had to wait over 30 minutes while the entire restaurant was empty. Staff didn't clean the tables although they had a lot of time as there was barely a customer in the place.
Such a pretty place with good donuts, the reason for the only one start is as follow:
1 employees should take the headphones out of their ears so that they can actually pay attention to customers.
2 a use our plates charge?? If I decide not to pay that feed do I get the food in a bag??
3 lots of dirty tables and try all in the back doing something else, I had to move plates from a table to another so I could sit down.
4 the food is actually not that great, the bacon was not crispy and the cut up hotdog??? Really???? I was very disappointed at the service. As a customer service manager for a company in Norway I can say that this place could use extra training of their staff.
Home to Cookies, Cakes, American Pancakes and Donuts it can safely be said that Kristiansand’s Donut Palace Lounge Bar does it for the #gram, yet amidst the cute décor and neon lights the space at Vestre Strandgate 43 is turning out a good product.
Over-the-top in a photogenic manner, Candy or Sprinkles decorating fried rings piped with Frosting or Jam and additional sweetness on top, both Chocolate and Vanilla fare well at NOK 59 each while the Chocolat Chip Cookie that looks sparse by comparison is full of Butter, soft at the center and crisp around the edge.
The only thing that i will be back to Kristiansand to try the donut again and take a cup of coffee in the early morning , perfect decoration and very quiet atmosphere with a great peaceful songs , great stuff .
Good location near the train station with low quality of service and food. I ordered a sweet that was in donut fridge which wasn't fresh and smelled bad. Staff served my donut in a big plate with damaged sides. Toilet was dirty and it's lock did not work and they installed a workaround for it. Overall was not a professional tea or coffee place. I definitely don't recommend.
It's a cool place and social media aesthetic, but it doesn't make up for it with the really badly allergen info. Staff simply didn't know when we asked about which contained nuts, so we took a gamble on it (which would have been unnecessary if they had better control). The allergen notes with the name of the donut aren't filled out at all even on the ones where nuts clearly are visible, it is not marked as so.
If you are a person without allergies, it's probably magical to go here, but I would not go here again until this is fixed.
Pretty sweet concept, very floral and girly but overall a fun location. Staff struggled with English order but we got what we asked for and very quickly. There are good milkshakes and beer on tap and the widest varriety of donuts I have ever seen. The seating and decor is my personal favorite. Only issue I have is the slight lack of cleaning on the table and floor and the poor dead plants in the windows. Overall 10/10 will visit again!
The cold Blanc on tap is a must have after a long journey. It's location near the train station and bus stop makes it convenient for travellers to grab a quick bite. The donuts were on the richer/sweeter side for me, so I'll only recommend them to those who have a sweet tooth.
