We went for lunch and ate carne guisada, rice and beans and salad. Great tasting typical Criollo local food. Menu changes daily. Call ahead or check Facebook for the current sellection. Prices are $, not too expensive.

I can't really comment on the food so I gave it 1 star since we ordered food and over an hour later we hadn't received our fish tacos and a cheeseburger. We asked about it and the waitress went in the back and came back out saying 5 minutes which is the most standard answer when you ask someone how much longer. I have no idea what was going on in the kitchen but everyone and I do mean EVERYONE who came in after us ordered, ate and left and we were sitting around long enough to finish writing 3 chapters of a book. If they forgot to make the food, someone should of said something. If they had to go catch the food first they should have said that too. I know fishing can be stressful with a time limit. Nothing was more stressful than waiting on food for over an hour and watching people come and go while we waited. I can only imagine the time lapse video of our faces going from anticipation to okay...., to sad, to frustration and then finally leaving. Would not visit again and would appreciate if I could delete the existence of this place from Google maps.

This was the first restaurant we visited on the trip unless you count Burger King. Several people came in for carryout but we were the only patrons on a Saturday afternoon. We actually went looking for a different restaurant and since it was closed we stumble into Chivas.
We watched some basketball and the bartender make a layered shot while we waited on our food. The service was great.
My chicken was a little salty but very moist. The mamposteao rice was delicious. Washed it down with a Sprite Zero. Great meal. Clean bathrooms. Street parking.
We just finished dinner here. The tostones were on point! The mofongo was best I've tried so far...moist, flavorful, and good textures. The pollo sandwich was great...bread has crunchy crust but not too thick. Thanks to the staff who were so patient with our lousy abomination of the Spanish language. We are so grateful! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Ponce 🥰
So glad we stopped in were visiting from Chicago the food was amazing!! The bolitas de yuca and the arroz jibaro was so delicious and lots of flavor! The service was fantastic! The staff were so attentive and inviting!! Definitely recommend this spot and will be coming back on our next visit to Puerto Rico!!
