My wife & I stopped in here to watch the superbowl. Although the Pat's lost we had a great night. The red wine was very tasty and the food was good as well. We'll be back for sure
Had a great time.. Rita G was back performing with a new band "Project Band". They were awesome and as usual she was AMAZING!!! Voice stronger than ever!! Great place for live entertainment on Thursdays! Great ambiance and food! You must check them out and see Rita G in the flesh!!!
I would give Desmond's five-star. We go there for karaoke and we host parties there all of the time. We still have love for it because of Mr. Gibson, but the service that we got from the two bartenders male and female, was terrible!!!! I can say at least the young man did come and apologize to my aunt. Let me say this: We understand about tips so we tip big never under $25 NEVER !!! you might get a 50 to $150 tip from THEE whole party cuz we never go no less than ten to twenty people deep. ALL FAMILY!!! 😍
So this was the situation : a young lady said that they were serving food annnd was nice enough to go and get it "from The Bistro." Butttt everyone was not aware that the food was not being cooked in-house . When we alerted everyone is still took about an hour to an hour and a half - some of the food still came back good and hot!! 💖While we were waiting a few ppl asked the bartender "Do you know how long the food will be?" they yelled at us and said you did not order no food from me... the other stated she didn't have nothing to do with the food WITH HER HANDS UP in my lil cousin face...
Whenever we approach the bar... the youngman would ask us what we needed but the younglady would ignore us TO THE FULLEST!!! GOOD SERVICE IS STILL NECESSARY FOR REPEAT BUSINESS... SMH
This place of Entertainment was formerly known as Gibson's Lounge. It is still owned by the same family! The establishments bar etiquette is above average, customer service is great, food is off the chain, cost of drinks and food is about avg., It is clean, and tends to offer customer appreciation every now and then, crowd is about 30/35+. As far as Cons go, my only suggestion would be to fill it's calendar with events! I say that 1) because when it does book events, whatever they may be, the place is packed! 2) because when they don't, it tends to slow down quite drastically! 3) because I am in the bar business myself, I would hate to see this place go out of business simply because it's a product of it's environment as a lot of Detroit businesses are being shut down every day! It would sadden me deeply to ad this place to the ghost town of memories in my head! With all that being said Desmond's won't be going anywhere anytime soon and has the potential to soar upon it's wildest dreams! Good luck Desmond's Elegant Affairs aka Gibson's! I will be going here for as long as it chooses to entertain Detroit!!! Thank you!
