I had the pleasure of dining at Cumin restaurant in Hamden, CT, and it was an outstanding experience. My wife and I have been ordering take out from Cumin for a few years and have always been pleased with the result. I get butter chicken as spiciest as possible (Indian spicy) and she gets mild chana masala. They are yummy and stay warm even on delivery. The rice is on the high end for takeout jasmine rice. My first time having Indian food and it will not be the last. We ordered the curry lamb and the Tikka masala lamp. The flavor was excellent. I personally recommend the Tikka masala for the flavor although the lamb was more tender on the curry dish. The rice was flavorful. We also had the dahi papri for an appetizer excellent choice with the garlic naan bead. The place is authentic. The only thing I wish would have been different is that they had no music playing. Every time we order to-go it is delicious! We have to get in to dine in one day soon. Tonight we ordered Navrattan Korma (Nine vegetables cooked with nine spices, nuts and cream sauce) and lamb madras! We absolutely LOVED it with the naan and sauces they provide. The best Indian food I’ve ever had. My go-to’s are always the chicken tikka and butter chicken and they always hit. There’s always a big portion out with a generous serving of rice. I always eat take-out but I did go in once and the experience was incredible. The serving staff was amazing, not to mention having generous portions of rice to go with our already huge portion of entrees. To go with my food, I also like to order naan and it’s delicious and buttery. It compliments the spice of the entrees as well. Would recommend!! Very nice ! Good taste. Need to improve the biryani quality. Use basmati..Change the rice type and add some safron flavor. Butter chicken is nice. Naan / bread basket is very good. Mango lassi is super good!
