My friend and I went for dinner before a show at Playhouse Square. She ordered the seafood risotto, and had to send it back. The scallops in the risotto were raw. I had the lasagna. It was barely warm, the edges were burned, not much sauce, excessive cheese between the mozzarella on top and the ricotta inside, and the flavor was average at best. The best part of the meal was the bread with pesto dip. Certainly not what we were expecting for the price we paid. Great atmosphere and very convenient for any show at the theater. The food was cold and just okay— definitely could do better for the price point. We were told that they had new staff, but were almost late for our show because it took us an hour and a half to get our meal. Drinks took long as well, things like Diet Coke took more than 20 minutes to receive. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
Great place for dinner before a show. I have eaten at Cibreo several times. Our server Kiara was great! The food is usually good. Last night I chose the salmon for $28.99. Unfortunately this was my least favorite of the menu items I’ve tried. The salmon was cooked to well done (asked for medium) and the entire dish including fingerling potatoes was smothered in red sauce. The sauce was ok but I have never had red sauce on potatoes! Not a good combo. The menu said the dish came with a spinach cream sauce which was nowhere to be found. The hard part about dinner before a show is there’s not time to send dishes back or I would have. The other 3 people in my party had no complaints about their dinners. Also tiramisu was very dry. Great atmosphere and great food. We went before attending a show at the Hanna theater on a Saturday evening. We weren't sure about the place because of negative reviews we saw from post-covid. But I think the bad reviews were simply people who didn't plan their schedule to give them enough time before their shows. This is a real Italian restaurant (not a fast meal restaurant). Plan on at least 1.5 hours for dinner. We took our time with drinks/appetizers/dinner/dessert. We planned on a 2 hour dinner and spent a littler longer than that before going to our show. If you have a show at 7:30 get there no later than 5pm and give yourself a nice time. The restaurant got busier before we left at 7pm and those who showed up at 6:30 for a meal before their show at 7:30 definitely would have felt rushed and not had a good experience- but that is not the fault of this great restaurant. Will definitely go back. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The bread, salad, and drinks were the best part. Both of our entrées had unexpectedly odd flavors, but we overall enjoyed our meal. Servers and staff were very hospitable. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

Was attending a show across the street...was about 90 min early...hadn't eaten...and stopped in for some tasty Italian cuisine Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We went to Cibréo after a matinee show, for early dinner. The host, whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, was incredibly accommodating and kind. Our server Lauren was super professional & attentive. She was calm, organized, friendly, and anticipated things that we needed without even having to ask. In fact, hilariously, my mom loved her so much that she even suggested we become roommates in the middle of our meal (lol). I’ve been in the industry most of my life and I, along with my whole family, was very impressed with our service from start to finish. And the food was excellent! We had a white bean soup, caprese salad, a few different pasta dishes, the salmon, and a braised short rib special. Everything was fresh, flavorful, & delicious. The complimentary focaccia was great as were our cocktails and dessert. We will definitely come back to Cibréo next time we go to Playhouse Square, and we’ll recommend it to friends as well. Thanks to all of you for helping to make our day really lovely & special! Merry Christmas!

Delicious Italian food in a cool, rustic setting. Nice location across the street from the theaters. I was able to walk in and sit at the bar...normally need reservation for a table. Had the porcini, sausage and bean soup and the porcini and truffle ravioli. Both were very good. Service was nice and food was pretty quick. Bread was very good too. Will definitely be back. Overall was not as good as we were expecting. A nice Italian restaurant caprese should have heirlooms or just tasty tomatoes, these missed. Focaccia was good with the pesto and oil. Lasagna was actually great. The service was very unfortunate. Server had a strange “I’m overworked” attitude. Bread came way after the food. We were just neglected. Oh well. Good thing John Mellancamp performance was epic.
Had very bad experience with the service. Went there to celebrate my mom's 72nd birthday. Our server wasn't very hospitable. He didn't introduce himself first of all. We asked for mozerella sticks, he said he was out of them. Asked for more bread and were told they were going to be out of bread after the refill. I felt like he didn't want to serve us and wanted to rush us out. Feel bad that we celebrated a special occasion here. Cod piccata that I ordered was greasy,no flavor and loaded with greasy baby potatoes. Tiramisu was not good. It was our first time visiting this restaurant and will be our last. Waste of money.
