Decided to have some lunch here with the family after a visit to the caves. The place was packed but they had a table available for us. Had the Oma Bob's croquetten which were fine but nothing special. Charging almost 13 euros for 2 croquetten and some bread seems very steep to me but that is to be expected at such a tourist location. A nice cozy restaurant / lunchroom with great selection of sweets, food and drinks. Including a variety of beers and wine! Lovely and a fast yet very social service. Beautiful views of the nature and cityscape of Maastricht and located in a peaceful area (close to the cave- and castle tours starting point). The food is well prepared, created from very good ingredients, The serving looks very impressive, with no unnecessary kitschy decoration but created from the food itself. The prices are a bit high, but still ok. Professional service is a goal to aim for.

A nice restaurant close to the famous Maastricht cave entrance. The restaurant is situated on the hill close to the Fort and the food was good. The staff were friendly and talk English quite well. I would recommend if you are visiting this cave area go for some nice Dutch food here.

I had the misfortune of visiting Chalet Bergrust Bistro-Café and had the worst customer service I've ever had. The order takers were not only impolite, but also racist, leaving a bad taste in my mouth. We were greeted with a cold and unwelcoming environment the moment we came inside the restaurant. The personnel appeared uninterested in servicing customers, and their lack of basic courtesy was obvious. When it was our turn to order, I witnessed the employees being dismissive of me and the other Asian customers. They treated us differently, which made me feel uneasy and unwelcome. I was confronted with impatience and disrespectful remarks when I sought to ask questions about the menu. They seemed uninterested in providing any advice or ideas, as if my presence bothered them. This flagrant disrespect for customer service standards was both disappointing and inexcusable. I highly advise restaurant's management to address the worrying behavior of its employees. Promoting inclusion and respect for all clients, regardless of their origin, is critical. Improving customer service training and creating a friendly environment should be top goals in order to avoid similar events in the future. Finally, our visit at Chalet Bergrust Bistro-Café was hampered by the worst customer service I've ever witnessed, as well as a depressing display of prejudice. I hope that this review acts as a wake-up call to the restaurant's management, motivating them to take urgent action and correct the situation for future guests.
