Truly a wonderful experience!! Generous portions when you order food for the table and share it. Incredibly delish duck and octopus for appetizer. Best service 🫰🏻 Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great little place with very good food. Ambiance is upscale casual. Portions are not huge but the food is quite good. Pricing is a bit on the high side but sort of what you would expect for the area and the size of the restaurant which is somewhat small. Reservations are recommended. Pricing on the wine is a bit high and it adds to the overall cost of the meal. The appetizers were all great and the mains were all above average. I would say average price for 2 with appetizer mains and dessert is likely between $125 and $150 with wine. I will return but likely special event dining for our budget. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
The food was outstanding and the atmosphere was lovely. The service was almost non-existent though. Our server was friendly, but it took so long to get in an order, to receive the food, and then to get the bill. I think we there over 3 hours in total. Otherwise the food saved the whole experience. Highly recommend the short ribs! Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Great ambiance but my short rib was thoroughly mediocre. It had zero fat and very little flavor. More like chuck. Never had a bad short rib before... Scallops were quite good! Price per person $30–50 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Great little Italian restaurant to tuck into. Both indoor and back patio dining is available. We sat at the back patio. Great prompt service with good expertise. It’s a popular destination so make reservations. The highlight of the show was the scallop dish. If it’s on the menu and you like seafood don’t skip it! Great wine list. What impressed me more was how our waitress was attuned and kind; my friend asked for an off the menu cocktail that’s diluted since she can’t drink much. It was met with zero resistance; and delivered promptly. Now that’s customer centric hospitality. We had the arugula and beet salads - both perfect for summer and sharing. Portions are well sized for sharing, especially if you like to try more dishes. It is reasonably priced. Parking is easy but it’s street parking, we found a spot within 2 min walking distance. It’s located in a good safe area with other restaurants on same street. If you happen to be in Evanston or visiting definitely check this place out, you will have a great dinner. Ok, now let’s mangia! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–100
We had one of the best Italian food we ever had. Everything what we ate was really amazing, full of textures and flavors. Our server was very knowledgeable and polite. Right away we ordered a dry martini with olives staffed with blue cheese.

Warm and professional staff even on an evening when the temperature hit record low in Chicago and as one of the last tables. I got the class pappaedelle bolognese. The sauce was thick, flavorful, and properly cooked into the pasta. My only suggestion was that I wished the pasta was more al dente as it was slightly overcooked. I also tried the seafood linguine and salmon that my friends ordered and really liked both. The ingredients were clearly very fresh and the chefs knew how to highlight them. This was definitely the case with the seafood linguine where the flavor was more complex yet well balanced at the same time. Great Italian affair and I would love to return to try more dishes!
My husband and I took a chance on getting in without a reservation. We got so lucky and got right in! It was a Thursday evening take note. Can't express enough how good our dinner was and the service! Our taste buds were dancing with joy! Hats off to the chef! We had the scallops, Octopus, Bolognese, and great wine. We are surely going back!

Ok.. I admit my pic game isn’t the best; however, I must say this was the best dinner I’ve had in a long long time!! I had the beet salad as the starter and the roasted duck entreé with cherry sauce. 100% absolutely delicious!! Now, I was really looking forward to the sticky toffee pudding for dessert but it wasn’t available so I skipped dessert.. Congratulations to the Chef!

Excellent about the details. Roommate and I are industry workers in the City so take that as it is, we are very forgiving but harder to impress I think. Portions are shockingly large and the food is top-notch. Simple and short menu, everything's executed perfectly. Pricing is super reasonable, we shared 3 first/app courses, a pasta, and a dessert, and got a very tasty and well-priced bottle of wine (very reasonable, about a 2x markup from retail) and two afterdinner pours (1 fernet, 1 port), tab $205 before tip. Bread was amazing, and I took solid pasta leftovers home to our other roomie. We left pretty stuffed. Octopus with beans was absolutely delicious, smoky and earthy and tomato-y. Carpaccio was salty and rich and spicy from the arugula. Gnocchi was creamy and fresh with the peas + green beans, could have used a tad more salt + acid but not enough to make it unlovable. Pappardelle was perfectly executed and sticky toffee pudding was phenomenal. Space is perfect. So many nice touches that are so subtle to help everything go smoothly. Comfortable, casual-fancy, not too loud, very ... easy. Service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We felt welcomed and cared for, and the food was just divine. Qotn: "this pasta...<closes eyes>...it tastes like...home. like home feels. Like grandma, and comfort, and happiness." Yep...that's it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
