They don't have a menu in English, but the waitresses were helpful in translating and choosing your order. They serve really delicious things and the apple cake was amazing. The decor of the pub is very cozy and the atmosphere inside is very homely. It's great that we could experience a visit to a place for locals before leaving Hilversum

Their food is really really good. Hands down the best toasties and best burgers in town. My 7yo and 4yo love the Angus beef burger. They normally do not eat the vegetables in the burger but they ate them here so I am thrilled to bits. Great place to expand kids’ palates. Great place. The grilled cheese might be the best I've ever had in a bar/restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, and when we asked for some tap water it was not a problem (we've encountered several places in Holland where they only served Spa Blauw). The place is situated between two local roads, which makes for a lot of traffic, but we weren't bothered by it. There also seemed to be a lot of locals coming in for their daily coffee/beer etc, which is always a good sign. In short: great stop for a cop of coffee/tea or quick lunch! Popped in with friends for coffee on a very wet day and decided to have lunch too. Cosy inside; good outside seating; tasty and well priced dishes with a good menu range; dog friendly. Friendly, helpful staff. Recommended! Meal type Lunch Price per person €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Not sure about the food as we only ordered fried sides for the table, but the service is truly horrendous. Prices are fine. The waitress taking our order was extremely rude and seemed rather irritated. At one point, we had to make our way inside to request service because our table was so neglected for a prolonged period of time. Needless to say, not the place to be if you enjoy a nice atmosphere. The place is completely renovated! The terrace is heated and perfect to sit outside on a call evening. Be is great! Nice appetizers. Did not have dinner. Gezellig!

Nice restaurant and friendly service. But the menu card is nothing for non-meat lovers. I found not one main dish without meat or fish. And this is in general the biggest problem in the Netherlands: Find just a great main course salad without fish or kip and instead with a great sauce. My hubby had meat and he really liked it and the Risotto. Other problem, no food for kids. So we had to order the Burger - great for me, but most likley kids don't like grilled vegetables and mango chuttney. But the brood plank is een echter anraader!

The place was almost empty when we walked in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, but they claimed that it was full; but we could sit outside. After 20 mins outside (only then did our waitress take our order), she told us we could sit inside. A table who came in 30 mins after we placed our orders was served first with their orders. When we received our meal, half of it was wrong (for example, an aubergine tostie didn’t actually constrain any aubergine) and the waitress was quite aggressive towards our table. Despite this, the food was alright. Will not return.

I love this place, and wish I'd discovered it on previous trips to Hilversum. I didn't expect to find such wonderful tapas so close to my hotel, and in a VERY friendly environment. Last night, the Caprese salad was fabulous, as were the albondigas and the boquerones. Without even considering anywhere else, I came back tonight for another excellent Caprese, and gambas as good as I've had anywhere - sweet, garlicky, and with the snap they have when perfectly cooked. Be sure to get some bread to soak up all that goodness.
