Nice location, good environment, tasty appel pie! Heel lekker! An enjoyable place to have a cup of coffee and a cake, sitting under the tree, observing passengers and kids playing around the fountain...
Good food, lovely ambiance, important initiative but quite unfortunate on the service and kindness of communication.
At the end of my meal (the last meal with my brother who I was visiting) and after having walked a little bit around to buy some small gifts to take back home, I sat back at the table and asked for a glass of tap water. At first, a bottle water was brought, then they tried to force the bottle on me, then they said I should buy bottled water because I have been sitting there for a long time and, finally, when I was given a glass of tap water it was warm.
Musy say, it sadly did not feel very welcoming for an place that, I guess, tries to promote inclusiveness. It also did not feel environmentally conscious to force bottled water in a town that hosts an University that works towards environmental sustainability.
But mostly, it's just water. Make a nice gesture. Give a smile and a glass of water. Does not take away anything but surely makes for a nicer and more welcoming day to all.

Very good food, super nice service and even choices for 2 different types of gluten free bread! They also have gluten free brownies for dessert! My favorite lunch place.
Lovely cafe with kind and friendly staff and delicious sweet treats as well as a yummy and varied lunch menu. The brownies are sheer perfection and served as generous portions, an indulgent treat for one and enough to share if you want (but you probably don't 😉). Coffee and coffee drinks here are also lovely, well brewed and not over-sweet.
