Our favorite restaurant. We often order spare ribs, they are much better than in Loetje. It is not a fancy place, it’s quite noisy here, and usually big companies and families spend their evenings here. If you’re coming during the weekend, I’ll suggest you make a reservation. We don’t come often because we live in Haarlem, but the staff is always welcoming. Once I didn’t like how the meat was grilled and they helped me and altered it to my taste. All the main dishes come with delicious fries and a simple salad. They are also fluent in English, which is a big advantage if you’re a foreigner. If you have a car, you can park near the church, but the space is limited. Also, they have very few vegetarian dishes, so keep it mind. On 16th Nov we visited with a group of 11. The place was very nice and with fall decorations. Service was really fast, especially that teenage girl who served us along with her colleague. The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was truly something else. I ordered the surf & turf, which was definitely the best I've ever had. The deserts were all outstanding as well, the chocolate cake was absolutely brilliant. I'll definitely be coming back here.

We were in Hoorn for a business trip. After work we made a reservation for 18:30 and each spot every 30min was available. When we came on spot (probably) owner rudly said that he does not have any table for us. Is it because we are not Dutch, meneer? I told him to manage website better because they have every 30min spot available and he was just repeating that he does not have table for us. However, there were 3 tables available. We went a few metres further to another restaurant without reservation and it was totally different story. Service was smiling, joking, super kind and food was great. Don't go to Eetcafe Bommels because you will be disappointed!

The waiters were way too hasty and didn't take time for us, also our email reservation wasn't put in properly so we didn't get seated where we wanted. Next to that the main dish took an hour to be prepared. So even though the food was rather well made I wouldn't recommend it because of the service we received.
