Found this lovely cafe during my 2 days staying in Almelo. The dessert on the left is something homemade by the owner. I forgot the exact name in Dutch, but I remember it’s right below the apple tart under the menu. It consists layers of whip cream, cherry gem, whip cream again, and some cookies at the bottom. Hard to explain in word, but I highly recommend this. There is also a museum on the 2nd floor that is worth to visit.

Beautiful garden. Lekker appel tarte. Their Wiener melange coffee is not really what we Viennese folks would consider to be a melange, but it was extremely good too. 🙂

Nice spot for a quick coffee and a bite. They have a small bakery museum upstairs, which is nice to browse for a bit.

In het museum op de verdieping is er heel veel te zien op het gebied van beschuit, suikerwerk, marsepein... Beneden vind je het café en de winkel. Daar hebben we een pak Chonelly gekocht, lekker! Hadden we nog nooit geproefd :). Je kunt er ook cadeau mandjes kopen die goed gevuld zijn met allerlei Bolletje producten.

Zeer mooie prestatie over het ontstaan en de huidige voortgang van bolletjes. Mooie uitleg over de tentoon gestelde voorwerpen door de zeer enthousiaste gids. Zeker de moeite waard.
