This gem in the beautiful Fruitland Heights neighborhood has been a mainstay of the community for decades. We're new to the neighborhood so we finally decided to stop in today for supper? (Really it was a super late lunch) around 4pm. Like other reviews said, it is a Very Friendly place, and James behind the counter made us feel like we were old friends.
The ribs, smoked right there on site, were falling off the bone and so delicious! I especially loved the collard greens and black eyed peas. I ordered the oxtail stew, like it was something I get every day, but in fact I thought it over and it was my first time eating that. The stew just looked so good in the case I couldn't resist, and I like trying new things. It was meaty and savory.
Total bill including two drinks $40. We definitely have leftovers for a whole nother meal tomorrow. You can order smaller portions, but we wanted to try all the sides so we got the large one.
The hang on the porch was a step back in time with all the neighborhood old timers chit chatting.
Very inexpensive. Great food. Great customer service. No dine-in but there's a picnic table out front. Giant blue building on the corner. You can't miss it. Buy local!! This $6 lunch included a beverage from the cooler!
It's really hard to make bacon taste bad. This place has figured out that if they never change the oil that will do it. Worst bacon ever, and I've been eating bacon for 58 years.
Great smothered chops mac and cheese collards the smoked chicken was very tasty but a little dry. Huge portion excellent value. Safe service nice people and a picnic table to sit. We wil definitely be back

Always try to find out what and where the local folk eat. This gives you better feel for your surroundings and the people. Blue Nile is a Saint Petersburg FL must, you'll no doubt be greeted two or three times by the time you leave the store. Stroll over to the sneeze guard and order food that grandma 🤗would waiting for you at the kitchen table🤔. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are prepared with professionalism and most importantly love. Be prepared to wait in line, but you won't wait long. Use your time waiting to decide what your going to purchase. Blue Nile is a order and take away Conner store / hole in the wall establishment. Prices for the most part are very reasonable along with proportions. You must try Blue Nile at least once🤗🤗😁😋
Beware of their breakfast, they deep fry bacon and the sausages. Some of the food isn't fresh. Enter at your own risk. Make sure your life insurance policy is up to date.
This small corner store is a staple in the city. Definitely an acquired taste kinda Caribbean definitely southern. Take your time when you come in in the morning to see Ms Angie
