Atmosphere dedicated to live music with a great, rotating selection of beers on tap. Vintage style bar with comfortable seating and a great space to see artists perform in friendly environs. Music most nights of the week, good prices, one of the best spots in Bloomington.

Great little venue for live music with a good selection of beer. Though it's in a basement, the owners have invested the time and resources into making the acoustics in the room good for music. They've got a pinball machine just outside the room with the stage for when the band isn't playing. Highly recommend.

Nice intimate beer bar. Like your family's finished basement. Sound man is very good so it is pleasant to hear good music.

Blockhouse is a nice little spot for music. The bar serves beer only, the selection is mostly common. The bar area is separate from the room with music so provides an area to really listen to the music. The Hammer and the Hatchet played a beautiful set. Mama Said String Band was delightful. They offer their own special sound. I have one important complaint though. There is no ♿ access or bathroom. In the alley there is a stairwell to enter. There is little space to even close the bathroom stall without straddling the toilet. Providing space for people who are either injured or permanently disabled is important.

Just visited for my first time the other day, but the Blockhouse rocks. I love all of the loungey seating and the inviting standing room. Had a very groovy feel. Though small, the acoustics there were far better than some other venues in town...

I've only ever been here on Wednesday nights to hear live jazz music, but each time has been a nice experience. Friendly staff, good beer options, nice place to run into friends.

Great vibes, amazing shows. Good mix of local acts with out of town guests coming through. No liquor is a minus, but good select beers.
