I had the most amazing quesabirria,very chessy and plenty of meat. The margaritas were so yummy I couldn't have just one. I tried a carne asada taco with the hot sauce and was also pretty good. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was great.

Solid 4 across the board. Cute small Mexican joint, although it really leans toward a Taco Joint, then full Mexican food. Limited menu. If you want some tacos, it's a good place to check out, but if you're looking for more of a selection, many this might not be your jam. No chips or salsa, unless you purchase them, never really liked places that did that. I'd at least would understand you get some with a drink purchase. No sweeteners at all if you're an unsweet tea drinker like me. I'm a diabetic and use them to limit my sugar intake, but they carry non. Nice looking bar. Waitress was super nice but seemed very new. No English at all, and she had to keep going to the bar and asking the bartender to come over to talk to us. Wasn't a big deal. She was trying hard to help. The food was good. Nothing out of this world and a must. Maybe a late night in Richmond, I'd stop here for some tacos or have business going on in the area. I wouldn't not come back here, just not my 1st goto.

A mixed experience.
Pros: flavorful food, good size portions, nice decor, manager (owner?) very pleasant
Cons: no chips and salsa while waiting for the meal, plastic silverware and bowls at a sit-down restaurant!!!, alcoholic drinks bland and margarita had no salt in the rim, young waitresses pleasant but not engaging or attentive to guests
There are so many Mexican restaurants! They need to improve to stand out. But this restaurant is fairly new when this was written.

If you are looking for a place to enjoy some delicious Mexican food and drinks, look no further than Big Chile in the Fan!
My friends and I had a great time there last night. We ordered two chorizo quesadillas, which were spicy and flavorful, and the beef burrito, which was huge and satisfying. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable.
We also took advantage of the happy hour deal and got two classic margaritas each for only 5 dollars a pop. They were refreshing and strong, just what we needed after a long day.
The service was friendly and attentive, although it took a bit of time to get the check after we were ready to go. Would go again!

Saw a 4.8 rating with almost 100 reviews and thought, “damn, this place must be a hidden gem.” Instead, we discovered that at best, those reviews seem to be based on solely on the guac or more likely, the folks writing those reviews have no taste.
I mean, the queso alone drops it to 3 stars. I’ve had better cheese dip at a 7-11 nacho machine. The chicken in the enchilada were dry af while the chicken in the burrito was dripping an amount of oily grease only rivaled by the worst pizza.
Service was just medicine.
Must be a college kid hangout. There’s so much better Mexican in Richmond.

I love a good margarita...add a great price for that margarita and I'm a fan. The Bug Chile delivers! Happy hour, $5 margs, mixed perfectly. I also had birrea tacos and they were sensational. Service also great.
