Had the sliced brisket plate with sweet potato casserole, baked beans and added some fried okra. The brisket had some major smoke rings on it and was super moist and flavorful. Did not taste like vinegar! The Joe's sauce was good- again not vinegar flavored. The beans were ok, the fried okra was ok, but the start of my plate- in my opinion- was that sweet potato casserole! I would definitely recommend it and the brisket, for sure. They were super busy with people picking up catering orders and it seem to allow them down a bit. Great food, great service! Being a Texan on the road for work isn't always easy. I'm not a BBQ snob, but I've definitely been disappointed a fair number of times as I travel to other states. Not this time! BBQ Joe's was great. The staff was very nice and helpful. I was kind of on the fence about the sweet potato casserole, but a recommendation from the staff sealed the deal and holy carp, it was fantastic. Beans were really good too. Sides alone won't get it done though, if you're going to a BBQ joint it's all about the meat and bbqJs delivers. I had the chopped brisket. I've had a lot of brisket in my day, and this was legit. Portion size was great, sauce was on point, but most importantly the meat was simply fantastic.
